It was good to attend today's Adult Health and Social Care Network meeting hosted by Bexley Voluntary Service Council.

Thank you to Crossroads SEL, Carers' Support Bexley, Counselling Matters Bexley, Re-Instate who shared their experiences and insights.

Strong partnerships between the Council, health services and the voluntary sector are vital in helping us support residents, particularly unpaid carers and older people.

Thank you for all that you do for our communities.

Coercive control doesn’t always leave physical marks. Often, it begins quietly, slowly reshaping your sense of reality. It can look like constantly treading on eggshells, having everyday choices monitored, subtle isolation from friends or family, or feeling like you’re always second-guessing your own memory and emotions. Over time, it chips away at your confidence and independence until you barely recognise yourself. If any of this feels familiar, please know this: it is not your fault and you don’t have to carry it on your own.

Our Women’s Domestic Abuse Support Group provides a warm, confidential, non-judgemental space in Bexleyheath to share at your own pace, connect with other women who truly understand, and begin rebuilding your confidence.

Starts: Wednesday 21st October 2026 When: Once a month, Wednesdays | 9:30am – 11:00am
Where: Bexleyheath (full location details provided upon registration) Register: Visit counsellingmattersbexley.org (or link in our bio)

Ever had a weekend full of sleep, only to wake up on Monday still feeling completely depleted?

Burnout doesn't always announce itself with a dramatic crash. More often, it creeps in quietly:

Emotional numbness or detachment from things you usually enjoy

Feeling irritable or overwhelmed by the smallest everyday decisions

A mental fog that sleep alone can’t seem to clear

When your nervous system is running on empty, passive rest isn’t always enough. Sometimes the shift begins with gentle nervous system resets—protecting your personal boundaries, reducing sensory overload, and creating space to be heard without judgment.

You don’t have to wait until you hit breaking point to ask for support.

Swipe through for a few gentle reminders on navigating emotional exhaustion. If you or someone you know in the Bexley community could benefit from a safe, supportive space to talk, our qualified team is here for you.

The transition from summer break back to the classroom can bring up a mix of excitement and anxiety, for both children and parents. 💙

A restful holiday isn't just about fun outings; it’s about giving your child space to decompress, build emotional resilience, and gently ease back into structured routines without the overwhelming pressure.

How to support a smooth transition:

Shift sleep schedules gradually: Move bedtime and wake-up times by 15–20 minutes each day over the final week.

Validate big emotions: Listen to worries about new teachers, friendships, or workloads without rushing to fix them right away.

Preserve downtime: Keep unscheduled, quiet moments in the day to allow nervous systems to recharge before term begins.

Swipe through for practical steps to nurture calm, confident routines leading up to the new school term. 👉

Need extra support navigating emotional hurdles or family transitions? Reach out to us via the link in our bio to learn more about our counselling services.
