As a sickle cell warrior, I want to remind everyone that blood donation can save lives. 🩸💚

But awareness isn't just about donating blood. It's also about listening to those of us living with sickle cell.

Listen when we say we're in pain.
Listen when we say we're exhausted.
Listen when we say something doesn't feel right.

Our experiences deserve to be heard, understood and taken seriously.

If you're eligible to donate blood, please consider doing so. Your donation could make a life-changing difference to someone living with sickle cell.

Let's raise awareness.
Let's listen.
Let's save lives. 💚🩸

Sometimes, I wish people understood… 💚

Recently, I was at the celebration of life of a fellow sickle cell warrior who passed away just a few days before her 70th birthday.

I was listening to the Christian music, someone said something that made me laugh, and this little moment was captured.

Looking at this video, you would simply see me smiling and laughing. And that's exactly the point.

Living with sickle cell has taught me that looking well doesn't always mean feeling well.

Thankfully, I haven't had a crisis in a while, and I am grateful to God for that. 🙏🏽

But sickle cell is more than the crises. Sometimes it's the tiredness, the need to slow down, or simply listening to what your body needs.

I don't want pity. I just want understanding. 💚

So this Sickle Cell Awareness Month, let's remember to look beyond what we see.

Be patient.
Listen without judgment.
Choose empathy.

Because you never really know what someone is carrying behind their smile.

And today, I also honour a life that came so close to 70. 💚🙏🏽

I am Chinonye. I am a sickle cell warrior, and I am grateful for every day God gives me.

Living with sickle cell has taught me that strength doesn't always look like pushing through the pain.

Sometimes, strength is resting. Sometimes, it's saying no. Sometimes, it's simply getting up and trying again. 💚

I may have sickle cell, but sickle cell does not have me.

I am still living, loving, dreaming, and making memories. 🙏🏽✨

To every sickle cell warrior, caregiver, and supporter, your journey matters. You are not alone. 💚

Let's continue to raise awareness, spread love, and educate others about sickle cell disease.

📌 September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month.

The sun is shining, but please remember to look after YOU. ☀️💛

To my fellow sickle cell warriors, this is just a little reminder: please listen to your body, stay hydrated, rest when you need to, and protect yourself from the heat. Don’t wait until your body is struggling before you slow down. ❤️

And most importantly, don’t let sickle cell define who you are. It is something we live with, but it is NOT all that we are. We are still allowed to dream, travel, laugh, love, achieve, make memories and enjoy life. 🌍✨

Some days may be harder than others, and that’s okay. Give yourself grace, take care of yourself and keep going at your own pace.

We are warriors, but warriors need rest too. 💛🙏🏾

Stay safe, stay hydrated and take care of yourselves. And remember, I’m here rooting for you. ❤️💪🏾

❤️🩸 WORLD SICKLE CELL DAY 2026 🩸❤️

For those who may not know, I have sickle cell disease, and today I’m sharing my story. Not for sympathy, but to raise awareness and give hope.

Today is personal for me.

I don’t just talk about sickle cell—I live with it.

There have been hard days… pain, hospital visits, and moments where I felt like people just didn’t understand. But there have also been strong days. Days I didn’t think I would get through but I did.
Sickle cell has taught me a lot—about strength, patience, and not taking life for granted.

If you know someone living with sickle cell, please take time to understand their journey. Your support can make a bigger difference than you realize.

On this World Sickle Cell Day, I just want to use my voice for everyone living with this condition. We are more than a diagnosis.

To every sickle cell warrior out there—I see you. I understand you. Keep going, even on the hard days.
❤️ Your voice matters
❤️ Your story matters
❤️ Your life matters

Happy International Women’s Day 💜

To every woman living with sickle cell — you are truly strong.

We know the journey is not always easy. The pain, the hospital visits, the tired days… yet we keep going. We keep showing up. We keep believing.

Today I want to remind you:

You are not defined by your condition.
You are not limited by it.
You are stronger than it.

Please remember to care for yourself, rest when needed, and listen to your body. Self-care is not a luxury — it is essential.

Sending love, strength, and encouragement to all my sisters in this community.

May we continue to walk in hope and faith together 🌸
