🩸❤️ Bleed Kit Used Successfully ❤️🩸

Following a crash between a cyclist and a car. The ambulance service directed a 999 caller to the nearest bleed control kit. The member of the public was thankfully able to provide immediate first aid. The patient had sustained a serious head injury.

The bleed kit played a vital role in managing the bleed until the ambulance arrived on the scene.

After receiving a call from the ambulance service I’ve just been and replaced the bleed control kit so it’s back emergency ready.

I would also like to wish the patient a speedy recovery 💙

Have you heard of Martyn’s Law??

Martyn's Law, officially the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, it went and received Royal Assent in April 2025, and is to come into force in April 2027.

Named in tribute of a gentleman Martyn Hett, who was killed in the 2017 Manchester Arena attack, the legislation is designed to improve security and preparedness at public venues across the UK.

Any building, school or event with 200+ people has to comply with the new law.

A PAcT Kit has to be present on site. PAcT kits are designed for the untrained general public to treat any catastrophic bleeding and major wounds before emergency services arrive at the scene.

🩸 I saw recently that the whole of Worcester only had 5 registered Bleed Control Kits on the UK BleedMap. So I’m now working alongside Peter Lewis to change that number to a lot more. I’ve had a very successful meeting in Worcester today. I started off by getting a Bleed Control Kit into the Brewer’s Arms in the St John’s area of Worcester. This Kit is now registered with West Midlands Ambulance Service for any Catastrophic Bleed that may occur in the area. If you know of any businesses that would host a Kit in Worcester please do get in touch with me ❤️

Would you or your company be interested in sponsoring or hosting a Bleed Control Kit? The kits cost £85 plus VAT so £102.

All Bleed Kits get registered with the relevant Ambulance Service. Any bleed requiring a 999 call will be directed to the nearest kit and talked through on how to use it.

I undertook meetings and spoke to Lynne McleodFinch-Baird Mbe who designed the kit after her son Daniel was fatally stabbed. I then started fundraising.

I put my first Kit out on 1st April 2025. I currently have 290 Kits out and registered. 16 Kits have currently saved 16 lives.

I am proud and grateful for the incredible support I have received, and all the fantastic donations from so many to make this possible.

I want to get Critical Bleed Control Kits for public use in as many places as I can.

As I say to everyone I hope they never have to use these Kits but if someone is suffering from a catastrophic bleed the kits are there and they will certainly save lives. A bleed could be from a weapon, road accident, trip or fall, dog bite, sporting injury or even a work accident etc.

I will continue with my initiative and am proud to play a small part in helping to keep us all safe ❤️
