What are my main takings from the WildFit challenge you may ask. I would like to highlight three things!
1. I drink much more WATER on a daily basis – 6 to 8 glasses per day
Water is life! The body needs natural water as tea, vegetables and fruit don’t provide the body with enough water. We need water to flush out toxins and stay hydrated. I alternate drinking cold and warm water. I have a flask of water in the car, which reminds me to drink and so easy to do when sitting in queues or at traffic lights. I’ve gone from having been really bad at drinking water to managing 6 to 8 glasses per day and that feels GREAT!
2. Before I buy a product, I will always read the list of ingredients
I’ve been hit with the reality that so many products out on the market contain SUGAR. Some products that are being marketed as “healthy” can actually be the right opposite, especially energy bars.
3. I’ve expanded my range of VEGETABLES and fresh HERBS
I wasn’t a fan of Brussel sprouts as a vegetable before - guess it was down to a bad childhood memory - however in a stir fry together with other veggies it’s delicious. Brussel sprouts and asparagus are very good to cleansing the liver.
I wasn’t a fan of hot food earlier, however adding a mild Chili Pepper to dishes is really exciting and gives the dish a different dept. Chili Peppers have many health benefits including boosting your immune system.
I love including fresh herbs in my dishes and salads. I've expanded to using even more; tarragon, basil, parsley and coriander are always in my fridge today – all of which have many health benefits! In my garden, I can also harvest rosemary, fennel, lovage, thyme, oregano and mint which feels so special!
Life feels very good! 😍
