We’re delighted to be an official partner of the Schools & Academies Show at the NEC on 18 and 19 November.

On 18 November, our Senior Solicitor, Alex Stafford, will be speaking at the conference in a session titled 'Legal Rights and Duties for Children and Young People with SEND after the White Paper.'

Alex will explore how the White Paper has affected the legal entitlements of children and young people with SEND, what schools and professionals can do to prepare for reform, and the importance of enforceable provision and legal accountability.

Do you have a young person with PoTS starting secondary school next week?

Starting a new school can feel daunting, but planning ahead can help make the transition a little easier.

Consider talking to the school about support such as:

💧 Easy access to fluids
🪑 Rest breaks and appropriate seating
🌡️ Managing heat
📚 Flexibility with workload and deadlines
🏃 Adjustments for PE and physical activity
🚌 Support with getting around school
💜 A plan for difficult symptom days

Make sure key staff understand PoTS and what support the young person may need. Their needs can change, so keep communication open and review arrangements when necessary.

A little preparation now can make a big difference when starting secondary school.

🔷 What the law says about when an LA is allowed to cease (stop) an EHC plan
🔶 The legal process your LA must follow if it wants to cease your child or young person’s EHC plan
🔷 What you can do if your LA says it is going to cease your child or young person’s EHC plan

Spaces are limited, so book your place here: https://www.ipsea.org.uk/join-our-free-webinar-cease-to-maintain-webinar
