Your body is always responding to the life you give it. The way you move, the food you eat, the people you surround yourself with, and the habits you practice each day can either support your healing or work against it.

When unexpected challenges strike, our practices already in place will buffer our body so when we call on more
tools or up our game / change our lifestyle or whatever we need, our mind and body will respond more efficiently.

One of the most powerful things you can do for yourself is to stay curious about your own needs. Listen. Notice. Pay attention. Then honour what you discover through action.

I’ve been listening to my body’s needs for 27 years and I’m still learning, still discovering and I know I am stronger, wiser, more compassionate towards myself for it.

Healing isn’t found in perfection—it’s found in the daily choices that bring you back to yourself.

✨ Be curious. Be honest. Take action.

Gentle Pregnancy Yoga 🤍

Come and take an hour for yourself each Monday evening in our warm and cosy studio space. These classes are designed to help you slow down, breathe, move gently and feel supported throughout your pregnancy.

We begin with a calming herbal tea and a relaxed check-in — a chance to chat, share, ask questions or simply connect with other mums-to-be. We then move through gentle stretches and exercises for the whole body, helping the pelvis to stay balanced, toned and relaxed, whilst also easing tension and supporting your changing body through pregnancy.

We also explore the biomechanics of birth, and everything we work through in these classes is designed to help give you tools, confidence and information for birth, whilst also preparing the body to accommodate your baby and encourage optimal positioning.

The classes are small, welcoming and suitable for all abilities from 14 weeks gestation, with all equipment provided — you just need to bring yourself 🤍

A gentle women-only yin & tonic mini retreat designed to slow everything down and bring you back into balance.

Set in peaceful countryside surroundings with wide-open views, this intimate session invites you to fully unwind and reconnect. You’ll begin with a grounding yin yoga practice, designed to release deep tension, calm the nervous system, and create space in both body and mind.

From there, you’ll move into a restorative contrast experience of heat and cold — easing into a soothing sauna to relax muscles and melt stress away, followed by a refreshing cold dip to awaken circulation and leave you feeling invigorated and alive.

Afterwards, you can settle into the land around you — quiet green space made for resting, wandering, or simply sitting still — feel free to bring lunch and enjoy on the land.

To close, you’ll be served a warming chai latte, the perfect spiced finish to a day of grounding, release, and renewal.

This is a space for women to pause, breathe deeply, and reconnect with themselves — held by nature, warmth, and stillness.

Strong, capable, resilient bodies are incredible — but in pregnancy and motherhood, it’s not just about strength. It’s about balance.

We’re often taught to “train” the body for birth with movement, fitness, and endurance… and yes, that matters. But so does the softer side. Slowing down. Softening. Creating space.

Gentle stretches, yin yoga, and breathwork aren’t just nice add-ons — they play a powerful role in supporting optimal baby positioning, while also helping the body release deep-held tension and prepare to yield, not just push, in birth.

And it doesn’t stop there.

That same ability to regulate your nervous system, to pause, to breathe, to come back to yourself… becomes everything in motherhood. In the messy, beautiful, overwhelming moments. In the mental load. In the constant giving.

I truly believe in practicing what I preach. Even though I’m no longer birthing babies, I am still mothering — and I still need this work. The grounding. The softness. The reset.

Because motherhood isn’t just about caring for others — it’s about sustaining yourself, too.

Strength and softness.
Effort and ease.
Doing and being.

We need both 🩷

Side lunge for labour…..
How does it work?

The Lunge opens the mid-pelvis. It is a good technique to be used in labor during a contraction.

Lunges help:

*An occiput posterior baby rotate or descend
*An asynclitic baby descend
*Overcome a stall in active labor

When labor is asymmetrical, make the pelvis asymmetrical!

When should you do it?

Use when regular contractions are present (especially if the baby is at 0 station or near it). Fairly moderate or strong contractions seem to work best with the lunge. This is because of the “spinning” power of the contractions.

Once you get regular contractions, you will be able to move into the lunge position as the contraction begins. Put your foot down after the contraction finishes to relax your leg and prevent tired legs.

Before doing a lunge

Make sure the baby is engaged first. Do the Side-lying Release to make the lunge more successful.

Are there any good alternatives?

A complementary technique is the Abdominal Lift. It is effective during active labor contractions as well, and helps occiput posterior babies rotate. It can be used when the baby is higher in the pelvis, from the brim down to the mid-pelvis, as the lunge is more effective for babies at the mid-pelvis.
