Many of the difficulties we experience while breastfeeding can be prevented or reduced with breastfeeding education.

When we understand how our bodies work, we can work with our physiology.

Obviously, there are a whole load of other factors that impact and influence our feeding experiences, but education will always help (in my humble opinion).

This is why physiology underpins the sessions we run at The Pregnancy Circle. Our bodies are really quite spectacular, and what our bodies are capable of is worth exploring before we're in the thick of it 💫

The next breastfeeding training starts in just a few weeks and we have a couple of spaces left
It is all online (but don’t worry we have some great discussions and the time goes quickly!)
You will receive an NOCN certificate

This is a great course for mothers that want to learn more about infant feeding
Those wanting to volunteer, run groups or support friends and family
If you’re wanting to work in maternity or the health visiting service and gain more knowledge/CV (or perhaps you already do work in maternity and want an opportunity to ask questions and discuss cases).

Please message or email if you’re interested or want to find out about the next course in 2027

We had a wonderful session at Crediton BAPS Baby and Parent Support today. Lots of babies of all ages. Snuggled in sleeping, feeding, sitting and curiously taking it all in. Munching first foods. Little coos and conversations, some cries (of course) and lots of smiles and giggles. Some beginning to crawl and others taking tentative first steps. All magnificent and being held by a lovely community of mothers. I am always struck by the bravery, resilience and brilliance of mothers. And when they come together, it's really quite powerful. 💫

We also had some new parents who had previously attended the The Pregnancy Circle. Knowing and being comfortable with where you can access support in pregnancy, makes those first ventures out, that little bit easier. 🔆

Thank you to my wonderful friend and wise woman, Emma, for coming to help host and to my little girl, who helped me set up and entertained some of the babies with such ease and enthusiasm (you can come again!) 😊

We really enjoyed last night's The Pregnancy Circle. We talked about how we make milk, newborn nappies, feeding positions and more. We did some myth busting and scenarios and ended with a short grounding exercise.
Thank you to those who attended. We hope it was helpful 💫

We are still open to ideas of what the next circles' focus will be. Comment or message if you have suggestions. 🙏

Our next session tomorrow!
Preparing to feed your baby.
Feeding your baby is so nuanced and personal and also hugely influenced by others and wider systems. It actually feels like quite a tricky session to run. How to meet everyone where they are at and explore all the potentials that feeding your baby brings. We plan to run a more interactive session and I am grateful to all the people I spoke with at Crediton BAPS Baby and Parent Support Tuesday groups who generously and bravely told me some of their stories and what they wish they had known more about.
Hopefully it will be interesting and empowering. 🩷

The next circle is fast approaching.
Its TOMMORROW!
Monday 3rd August, 7pm, Crediton Methodist Church.

This session is focused on feeding your baby.

We will be covering the following:

✨️ Scenarios and problem solving
✨️ Myth busting
✨️ Breastfeeding positions and latching
✨️ Feeding cues
✨️ Hand expressing technique
✨️ Is this normal? And when to seek help
✨️ Comfort beyond feeding
✨️ Creating your own feeding plan

With thanks to attendees of Crediton BAPS Baby and Parent Support Tuesday group, who have generously given me their feeding insights from their experiences and helped shaped the session for our Pregnancy Circle.

We will be gathering together, drinking tea, exploring and unpicking questions and concerns and hopefully leaving feeling more excited and prepared.

Partners very welcome and encouraged.

This week @ BAPS we are super lucky to have Elle joining us for some really expert infant feeding and breastfeeding support, in what will hopefully be a regular appearance alongside our usual breastfeeding peer supporters.

Elle from Little Green Independent Midwifery is a registered midwife and former infant feeding lead in the NHS. She will be joining us every other week at BAPS on a Tuesday. She will be on hand to offer feeding support for our mums, with the ability to do 1:1 work with you and your baby, free of charge.

No need to book, just turn up as usual during our session:
Tuesdays, 12-2pm
Crediton Methodist Church

Please send us a message if you’d like more details or if you need feeding support outside our group times.
