AGE IS JUST A NUMBER… BUT SOMEHOW WE’VE MADE IT A DEADLINE. 🩷
At 20, one woman is travelling the world while another is becoming a mum.
At 30, one is building a career, another is changing direction completely.
At 40, one is deep in family life while another is finding herself again.
At 50, one is becoming a grandmother while another is falling in love, starting a business, changing career, travelling the world or discovering parts of herself she never knew existed.
At 60, 70 and beyond… women are still beginning again.
New love.
New adventures.
New careers.
New versions of themselves.
Same age. Different seasons.
And maybe that’s the point.
I look at my own life and realise I’ve been both women.
At times I’ve lived the more traditional path.
Marriage. Motherhood. Family. Career. Responsibility.
And at other times I’ve stepped completely outside of what I thought my life was supposed to look like.
I’ve started again.
Changed direction.
Fallen in love again.
Reinvented myself.
And I’m still doing it.
That’s what I love about being a woman.
We don’t have to be one version of ourselves for our whole lives.
We’ve been handed a timeline that was never really ours to follow.
By this age you should…
By that age you must…
Says who?
There is no universal timeline.
There is only your life.
20 isn’t too young.
30 isn’t a deadline.
40 isn’t too late.
50 isn’t the end.
60 isn’t too late to begin again.
70 isn’t too late for a new adventure.
You can be 25 and feel lost.
You can be 65 and feel like you’re only just getting started.
Because we don’t just change in years.
We change in layers.
Body. Mind. Heart.
Each decade can bring something different — knowledge, depth, softness, strength, confidence, freedom.
We are not becoming less.
We are becoming more.
So stop measuring your life against someone else’s.
You’re not behind.
She’s not ahead.
You’re simply in different chapters of completely different stories.
And whatever number is on your next birthday cake…
There is still time.
To begin again.
To love again.
To change your mind.
To reinvent yourself.
To become more you than you’ve ever been.
There was never one timeline.
There was never one way to be a woman.
BE HER. At every age. 🩷
