๐ Staying safe in the heat ๐
Hot weather can increase the risk of dehydration, overheating, heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Take a few simple steps to keep yourself and others safe:
๐ง Drink plenty of fluids
๐ Keep your home cool by closing curtains and blinds during the day
๐ณ Stay in the shade, especially between 11am and 3pm
๐ Wear light, loose-fitting clothing and a hat
๐ฟ Cool down with a cool shower or by splashing your skin with cool water
๐ Check in on older relatives, neighbours and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat
If you or someone else becomes unwell in hot weather, be aware of the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke and seek help if needed.
