Hello everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself and share something I’m offering locally.

I’m the founder of Tao of Ox and I run gentle mindfulness, compassion-focused and qigong classes in North Tyneside.

My approach is particularly suited to people who experience stress, overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, neurodivergent challenges, or simply feel they need a little more space to slow down and reconnect with themselves.

The classes are gentle, beginner-friendly and focused on nervous system regulation rather than fitness or performance.

You don’t need any previous experience, special equipment or flexibility.

If you’ve been looking for a calm and supportive space to move, breathe and unwind, I’d be happy to answer any questions.

Details:

Like many people, I know how easy it can be to spend most of our time rushing from one thing to the next.

Over the last few years I’ve found practices such as qigong, mindfulness and self-compassion incredibly helpful for creating a little more space, steadiness and balance in everyday life.

Because of that, I’ve recently started offering local Tao of Ox classes in North Tyneside.

The classes are gentle, beginner-friendly and designed to help people slow down, reconnect with themselves and support their nervous system through movement, breathing and mindful awareness.

No previous experience is needed and everyone is welcome.

If this sounds like something you might enjoy, feel free to get in touch and I’ll happily share more details.

The last few days have been pretty amazing despite cutting my camping trip short because of the heat. For the last few trips id focused on doing as much as i could in the time i had away. This time i shifted from that to keeping things more relaxed and its helped me to regulate myself without all that extra pressure to do loads and just simply be. Here's just a glimpse of what I brought back with me, im going to be spending this next weekend getting a load of nervous system regulating posts together so that even if you couldn't be there with me you can experience some of what I did.

I've mentioned a couple of times that I'm neurodivergent/autistic. Well there are some things that I have what some call a special interest. In all honesty they're more like obsessions. Building furniture is just one. What you see here, as modelled by my fur baby Buddy is my Japanese style bed. I absolutely live this, I'm kind of also obsessed with specific elements of Japanese culture, zen home aesthetic, shinty and cultural concepts of wellbeing.
You'll find in the courses I produce for Tao Of Ox a theme of these Japanese concepts. They give a really intriguing insight into Japanese culture but these concepts of wellbeing can be quite positively life changing.
As I get things going on this page and my other social media I want to start sharing these with you and hope you'll be able to take something positive.
In the meantime please enjoy this picture of Buddy chilling on my bed platform

Some days can feel heavy and overwhelming, I've had some of these recently myself. When I leave these feelings unchecked they turn into exhaustion and burnout, and as a neurodivergent person this is disastrous.
One of the tools I use to offer myself some self care is Qigong.

I learned Qigong to help deal with a back injury 10 years ago, but Qigong is more than just a movement and exercise practice. Yes it helps improve mobility, flexibility and strength for anyone who has the flexibility of a tree, but it does so much more.
Qigong helps ease that tension you've been carrying in your shoulders and back for decades, it helps regulate a nervous system which is stressed and overwhelmed, forging a path to come back to the true self.

It's helped bring me back from the edge so many times.
It's for all these reasons and more I'd like to invite you to join me. I run my in person classes at Clear Mind Collective in Forest Hall, North Tyneside.
My class pass at £30 for 5 classes is the best value right now, a single class is £10.
Head to this link to find out more. I'd say see you on the mat but we don't use those.

I made this from footage I took at the Clear Mind Collective studio I'll be using from Saturday. It really is a serene place. I could have stayed there all day doing this, minus the camera

☯️ Tao = Path ☯️

The first step to healing is just to take that first step, the path may twist and turn, and you may find yourself on a different one.
My path brought me to Qigong, my intention was just to heal my back injury, through Qigong I have found a pathway to healing my mind and heart too.

Qigong as a mindful movement practice helps release physical tension, promotes mobility and strength, it supports healing nervous systems which hold trauma. You don't need to be flexible or fit to join my classes, you only need to be ready to take your first step.

Join me on Saturday mornings at Clear Mind Collective in Forest Hall North Tyneside and let's walk a healing path together

As a Gay Autistic person myself my Qigong classes are neurodivergent ♾️ and LGBT+ 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ inclusive
