Wrapped in the beauty of the Highlands and nestled beneath Ben Loyal, we shared a magical loom weaving afternoon at Kinloch Lodge. A wonderful family from New York joined me on behalf of Wildlands, weaving memories with locally dyed Shetland yarns and soft cotton textures. The piece they crafted will last forever—just like this moment in the wild heart of Scotland. If you are looking for a bespoke experience for your guests or for yourself contact me directly and let’s start planning together!

Under torrential rain, we stood by the river and asked the land for a brief window of calm—just enough to give our guests the full experience. The land heard us. As Amy’s group arrived, the rain stopped, offering us a perfect dry spell. Brogan (Soul Soulstice) and I (Roots and Cadence) led the guests through a serene wild swim, followed by a sauna ritual, all rounded off with warm cacao. The land provided, and the experience unfolded in perfect flow.

What if foraging wasn’t just about food — but about relationship?

About listening to the land, asking permission, and offering thanks?

In a world that rushes and takes, I choose to slow down. To kneel.

To learn the names, the needs, and the ways of wild plants.

To forage with reverence — in rhythm with the seasons and in conversation with the earth.

This is the Honourable Harvest — a way of being that remembers we are not above nature, but part of it.

In this piece, I share the heart of my approach to foraging in Scotland:
• Deep listening
• Legal and ethical guidance
• Urban and rural habitats
• Why nourishment begins in respect

If you’re curious about foraging, or longing to rekindle your relationship with the wild world, this is for you.
