This helps release stress, reduce overwhelm, and refocus on what truly matters. Hi, my name is Laura McKenzie, and I am a certified Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Level 1 and 2 practitioner. I run Shimmer & Shine Reiki, where I offer gentle, holistic energy healing to support your body, mind, and emotions. Reiki is a deeply relaxing, hands-on (or hands-off, if preferred) practice that helps to cleanse and

detox the body, calm the nervous system, and quiet the mind. In today’s fast-paced world—where work, family, and daily responsibilities constantly compete for attention—Reiki provides a moment of stillness, allowing you to release stress, reduce overwhelm, and refocus on what truly matters. The benefits of Reiki are numerous. It can promote better sleep, encourage self-love, enhance self-care, and create a deep sense of peace and balance. My personal journey with Reiki, as well as the experiences of my clients, has been transformative—bringing a sense of calm, clarity, and renewal. My mission is to share this experience with you and help you reconnect with your inner peace and wellbeing. This is a longer post, but I'd truly appreciate you taking a moment to read 💫

My Reiki journey began in April 2025, when I welcomed my first client at Greenbrae Steading. At that time, I was stepping into something new, trusting the process, and following a path that felt right deep within me.

Now, fast forward to April 2026 - one year on - and I've made the decision to move my practice into my home.

I feel so grateful and humbled to have had the opportunity to work from Greenbrae Steading. It was a space where my journey really began, and it will always hold a speacial place in my heart.

Since welcoming clients into my home, I've realsied with complete clarity that this was the right decision for me. I've created a space that is entirely my own - a place where only my energy flows. A space that is safe, harmonious, and filled with love.

Every client compliments the space I hold, and some have even shared that they prefer it to Greenbrae. I feel incredibly thankful every day to have a home spacious enough to work from, and for my husband's constant support and love - he truly is amazing 💟

The next chapter feels aligned, authentic, and depply personal...and I'm so excited to continue this journey with you all 💟

I'm easing into this week slowly and intentionally - taking a breath before the busyness begins.

Good afternoon
Now that schooling is out of the way, I finally have a moment to wish you all a very Happy New Year.

The snow has been quite magical - a real winter wonderland and beautiful to look at... although, if we're honest, also very inconvenient! ❄️

I've been a little quiet for a while due to... well, who honestly knows! Life happens.

I'm back today with some good news and an important update. From today, my Reiki sessions will be £40 per session.
Why? Just before Christmas a client said to me, "You're a bargain". that really landed. While it's important to me to remain accessible, it's also important that my work, time and experience are valued too.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. I'm looking forward to welcoming you back onto my Reiki bed and into a calmer, and more peaceful space 😇

This morning at Greenbrae Steading was truly special. I want to say a huge thank you to the lovely clients who came along to experience Reiki with me. The space was filled with calm, connection and beautiful energy.
