Physiological sigh has a power of calming your nervous system in 2-3 repetitions.

Have you tried it?

How to do it:
1. Take a deep breath (deep, not big!) down to your belly.
2. Take another one to top it up. It should feel like you can’t take any more air on after this.
3. Let all the air out with a big sigh or a swooshing sound.
4. Repeat 2-3 times and feel the difference.

NB
Not all breathwork exercises will feel good. Sometimes our bodies are not ready for them and this is fine. When doing the exercises, when something doesn’t feel well, stop the exercise and breathe normally as you usually do. Instead of doing an exercise, you can simply observe your breath and give yourself a few minutes of break.

If you’d like to know why some of the exercises don’t sit well and what to do to make them accessible to you, DM me and I will help.

As part of my 400-hour facilitator training I need participants to take part in both group sessions and 1:1s.

All I need from you is to be able to commit to two group sessions and four 1:1 sessions.

All free of charge to you.

You can bring a pal with you to a group session for half price :)

Six years ago, at the start of the pandemic, I joined an online session because I had nothing better to do.

That’s my origin story.

Having talked to people I know that they expect that there is always something bigger behind starting a practice.
But there wasn’t. I wasn’t in crisis, I had no depression.

Just an empty flat.

That’s it.

Then after weeks of those morning practices something happens and I discovered that my window of tolerance got wider.

It got wider through repetition of those exercises that frequently didn’t feel like anything.

I’ve just suddenly discovered how much room I’ve got and it was not through a breakthrough.

Now I teach breathwork.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll share what the 6 years of that have actually taught me, including the non-glamorous bits.

The seasons are changing and we all move a little bit more inward every day.

This series of breathwork sessions is going to take you on a journey through grouding and prepare you for wintering.

💨 What to Expect

You’ll lie down and be guided through various breathing techniques, supported by music and my facilitation throughout.

We will start with sharing our intensions, experience the breath and close with another share over a cuppa and a snack to close the experience.

After each session, you will leave with tools that you can use daily.

This practice is suitable for beginners and those with experience alike.

It’s not an intense breathwork class.

💨 This session is for you if:

You feel a little icky after the summer

You want to reconnect with your body and the present moment, root and ground

You’re curious about breathwork without intensity or pushing

💨 Practical details:
Wear comfortable clothing
Bring water and something to write with/in
Arrive 10 minutes early to settle in

No breathwork experience necessary

Spaces are limited to 15 in order to keep the group safe and intimate.

Warmly,
Ania

*If you have any pre-exisitng medical conditions including hypertension, glaucoma, history of epilepsy, panic attacks, anxiety and/or are pregnant, please get int touch ahead of the session.
** All equipment provided including mats, blankets, bolsters and eye pillows.

Life is lifeing and life is long.

There is time for everything and not everything needs to be rushed.

My time with the wee boy is limited, he’s not going to be wee forever and I’m going to be facilitating, hopefully, forever.

So goodbye slow July and hello slow August.

Sessions will resume in September at the lovely The Moon Rooms and The Wellbeing Hub ✨✨

My favourite feedback that I have received over the years is that „my brain has been taken out, washed, spun, drained and put back”.

Yes,
this is how the brain may feel after breathwork.

BUT

There are a few prerequisites for that to happen.

💨 You body needs to feel SAFE in the space the practice is taking place.
If your brain and body keep scanning the room for potential danger, it won’t be able to relax and fully engage with the practice.

💨 The FACILITATOR should (and may I add, needs to) themselves be regulated and engaged with the practitioners.
Detachment, stress and dysregulated outlook will have an effect on everybody’s experience.
Co-regulation plays a massive role when we meet in the breathwork container, as a calm and collected facilitator helps to stabilise another person’s emotional state.

💨 The PACE of the practice should not be pushed on you. Rhythm, intensity - it’s up to you. Facilitator guides, doesn’t push. You should be offered options and intensity should never ever be expected.
Everyone has their own window of tolerance and it should be relayed during the practice.

💨 GROUNDING and INTEGRATION should be offered, as part of the practice. Grounding techniques can help if you feel overwhelmed during the practice so that you can return to safety. Integration is an integral part of any breathwork experience that allows to process the experience and includes time and space for quiet time, journaling, chance for a chat, a share circle. Facilitator should make themselves available immediately after the session or event days after, as things may begin to surface.

I think I tick all of the above 😉

Sounds familiar?

It does to me!

We know that movement helps, sleep and eating healthy matters, that breathing can shift our entire nervous system.

But there is a gap between knowing it and actually doing something about it.

Time to bridge that gap and take ACTION.

We have plenty of awareness and little ACTION so let’s do something about it collectively.

The put it perfectly “while awareness is vital, real change comes when we take action too”.

So this next week, join me for a daily short breathwork practice. Less than 2 minutes.

Starting on Monday at 7 am.
