I’m a compassionate and approachable therapist specialising in somatic therapy, I also hold a degree in CBT.
Somatic therapy can be powerful on its own, and it can also be integrated with CBT, depending on what feels most helpful for you. Every client is unique, so I tailor the way I work to meet your individual needs.
When I experienced somatic therapy myself, influenced by the work of Dr Peter Levine, I explored how trauma is held in the nervous system. I noticed an immediate shift; my body felt lighter, calmer, and less stressed. As I tuned into my body, I felt more connected and settled. Somatic therapy helped me understand how past experiences can stay held in the body, and how gentle working the nervous system can help release that held stress and tension.
Trauma doesn’t just live in the thought; it lives in the body. When fight, flight or freeze responses are suppressed, the body can hold onto that survival energy, keeping the internal threat alarm switched on. This can show up as anxiety, panic, dissociation, shutdown, or chronic tension, even when you know you're safe.
Somatic therapy gently helps release that stored energy and turn off the threat alarm. Together, we will build your capacity to safely feel and process body sensations, allowing unfinished survival responses to complete and your nervous system to return to balance.
You don’t have to stay in survival mode. Your body can learn to feel safe again.
Clients often describe feeling calmer, lighter, more grounded and more present.
I have space available from April 6th.
