I’ve been working from LCCC Coatbridge this week and what a lovely, welcoming place it is. 💜

The team here are all deeply committed to helping people feel heard, supported, and understood. It’s been such a privilege to hold space for people reconnecting with themselves.

You don’t have to carry everything alone. Healing starts when you give yourself permission to pause, reflect, and choose a new way forward.

I still have a couple of counselling spaces available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Somatic trauma therapy with Keeley at Nightingale counselling Glasgow

15/03/2026

I’m a compassionate and approachable therapist specialising in somatic therapy, I also hold a degree in CBT.
Somatic therapy can be powerful on its own, and it can also be integrated with CBT, depending on what feels most helpful for you. Every client is unique, so I tailor the way I work to meet your individual needs.

When I experienced somatic therapy myself, influenced by the work of Dr Peter Levine, I explored how trauma is held in the nervous system. I noticed an immediate shift; my body felt lighter, calmer, and less stressed. As I tuned into my body, I felt more connected and settled. Somatic therapy helped me understand how past experiences can stay held in the body, and how gentle working the nervous system can help release that held stress and tension.

Trauma doesn’t just live in the thought; it lives in the body. When fight, flight or freeze responses are suppressed, the body can hold onto that survival energy, keeping the internal threat alarm switched on. This can show up as anxiety, panic, dissociation, shutdown, or chronic tension, even when you know you're safe.

Somatic therapy gently helps release that stored energy and turn off the threat alarm. Together, we will build your capacity to safely feel and process body sensations, allowing unfinished survival responses to complete and your nervous system to return to balance.
You don’t have to stay in survival mode. Your body can learn to feel safe again.
Clients often describe feeling calmer, lighter, more grounded and more present.

I have space available from April 6th.

A lovely testimony from my client ❤️Overcoming my own struggles gave me a purpose to help others, I am grateful for that ❤️

I have just completed my first block of eight sessions with Keeley, and I can honestly say the experience has been life-changing.

I’ve worked with a few therapists over the years, but Keeley really stands out for her ability to help you step back and gain clarity on the wide range of issues that come up in everyday life. She has a calm and thoughtful way of guiding conversations that helps you see patterns and understand your thoughts and behaviours more clearly.

Through our sessions, Keeley has taught me practical CBT techniques that allow me to better manage my emotional responses to challenging situations. Applying these tools has helped me cope more effectively with stress, while also improving my self-confidence and overall sense of wellbeing.

I would highly recommend Keeley to anyone looking for a therapist who is insightful, supportive, and genuinely committed to helping you make meaningful and lasting changes.
