A Sunrise swim becomes my favourite thing.🩵 Something about being eye level with the surface of the water as the sun comes up on the horizon....swimming towards it...is like swimming into the mouth of the sun🌅 Looking straight into the Sun as it rises, regulates many chemical/biological processes in the body, including hormones, and melanin and melatonin. Sunrise light also influences serotonin production ...the precursor to melatonin ... meaning that morning exposure builds your evening sleep hormone reserves throughout the day. The combination of cold immersion and sunrise light creates an optimal neurochemical cascade: alertness and focus in the morning, sustained energy through the day, and natural sleepiness when darkness falls 💤
