Grandad of Bardware here……Hope all is well. Been in Bardware Lodge for quite sometime now but there are still items that I am pretty sure that I brought with me from London that I haven’t yet found! Does get a bit annoying. The only upside is that, whilst looking for said item, I often find other things that I’d forgotten I’d got…. But, no doubt, I shall then forget where they are when I want them! The joys of getting old eh? It’s to be expected I guess and I have to remind myself (and others) that I’m fast approaching ¾’s of a century, what a frightening thought! Especially as there is still this 20 year old, or so, inside shouting and fighting to get out. But, unfortunately, time will always take a certain toll and, some days, I have to “go with the flow” and admit that some things are unachievable at that time. C'est la vie mes amis (about the only French I know!)
Rattling around in my juke box brain this morning was a song written by Mary-Chapin Carpenter, don’t know what had been coursing through my mind whilst I was asleep but a sn**ch of the lyrics seemed to be prevalent on waking:-

“I have run from the arms of lovers
I have run from the eyes of friends
I have run from the hands of kindness
I have run just because I can”

I think that we probably all can relate times of our lives when these sentiments run true, I suppose the trick is, to learn from them. Often easier said than done I know. Right, enough self analysis! To bloomin’ frightening! Anyhey, on perusing I found this version of said song by the lovely Mary Black accompanied by my all time guitar hero Declan Sinnott (on, what looks like a lovely Lowden guitar). So I shall append as usual.
Thank you for your indulgencies in this old man’s ramblings. I wish you all sincere blessings and the very best wishes.

Grandad of Bardware here........hope all are well. Just a short post from me today to acknowledge the sad passing of Dolly Parton, undoubtedly a legend of country music. I've covered one or two of her songs in my time! Her music will definitely live on.
Sincere blessing all
