Prepping for winter, I know I know I don’t want to talk about it either. I’m still enjoying this late summer warmth but here’s some things you can do to make sure you have a nice and gentle winter ahead.

Gliding Cups… I use them all the time in my treatments because after Acupuncture I really like to get Chi and blood flowing within the area of any pain or injury. If you see me getting out the fire cups then know that it is because I want to improved the flow of Qi and blood within the area that you are experiencing pain. Cupping can sometimes feel a little bit odd because instead of a pressure into the muscles it is a pulling up releasing any cellular debris into lymphatic system to be dealt with.

When to have acupuncture?…

Often I get asked after acute sessions of acupuncture if that is it, well the answer is no. If you want to be one step ahead with your health and your wellbeing maintenance acupuncture can become a wonderful part of your life.

Why is AI sometimes more accurate than your acupuncturist…

Hot topic, I get asked all the time how many sessions will I need Aly. It’s often hard to tell and as an acupuncturist we don’t want to come across sales so what we tend to do is give you a number that we can get to that we know that we should see improvement and then we reassess from there.

Chronic Pain and Injury! I see this on a daily basis and it seems to be the client type that I attract. I have learnt such a lot over the 3 years In practice about pain and how to manage / combat it. You need to see recovery as something you are training for, set goals and also get treatment and help along the way.

Experiencing pain can affect you mentally as well as physically. Many of my clients come to me as they don’t feel they want to remain on long-term pain relief, they also don’t feel that their symptoms are getting any better.
