My little boy loves asking questions about pretty much everything! ✨️

This is a little snippet of a conversation I found myself having with him during the week. 🧠

It got me thinking...

The truth is, babies’ brains are amazing.

During pregnancy, around 250,000 new neurons can be generated every minute at the peak of prenatal brain development.

And once your baby is born, that development doesn’t slow down. The focus shifts towards building connections between those neurons.

In the first few years of life, more than 1 million new neural connections can form every second.

Just think about that for a moment. 🤯

Those connections are helping to build the foundations for language, movement, memory, communication, attention and learning.

And this is why those seemingly simple moments of play are anything but simple.

Every song you sing, every texture they explore, every movement they practise, every face they watch and every little interaction they have is giving their developing brain opportunities to learn and make connections.

And repetition matters too. The more a pathway is used, the stronger it can become.

At LullaBaby, we recognise the value of those little moments.

Our sessions are thoughtfully planned to give babies a lovely variety of opportunities to move, explore, communicate, discover and learn.

And while there is a variety of activities each week, our exploratory play is where I can really respond to the individual babies in the room, following their interests, abilities and stage of development.

Because when your baby is playing, they aren’t just having fun.

They’re learning.

They’re connecting.

They’re building their brain.

And that’s what we’re here to support at LullaBaby.

This Week's LullaLove 💙💜

1️⃣ First Aid Week!
We all hope we never need it, but this week our mums and dads have been learning essential BLS skills to build their confidence should they ever find themselves in an emergency.

With babies weaning, becoming more mobile and exploring the world around them, knowing what to do if your little one is unwell or has an accident can be so reassuring. 🤕

2️⃣ Rock ‘n’ Roll week! 🎸
We boogied, rocked and danced our way through every session!

3️⃣ The rave tent was a hit! ✨️
Safe to say our little ravers were fans!

🥰 A lovely mum who used to come to LullaBaby weekly is now back at work, so isn't able to join us regularly anymore. But she happened to have a day off this week, so she and her little one came back to LullaBaby.

The fact that she chose to spend her day off with us honestly meant the absolute world. 💙💜

This week is First Aid week 💜💙

We were joined this week by Lottie from who delivered basic life saving skills and 1st aid training to our Mums and Dads.
We all hope that we never need to use these particular skills but just knowing what to do should they be needed has given parents piece of mind this week.
First Aid training is part of our Step One Baby Foundation Course. It's a beautiful calm course which covers baby massage and yoga: which can help calm, soothe and encourage bonding, and also tummy time techniques that can help strengthen babies core and promote their physical development.
If you have a baby under 6 months and are wondering if LullaBaby is right for you, our next Step One course starts the week of the 2nd of November.
