🌿 A little bit of family time at Jen’s Den 🌿
This morning I had the absolute pleasure of welcoming , Kayleigh and Kirsten to Jen’s Den for their own family terrarium session.
Mum Teresa and her two daughters had decided to spend a couple of hours together creating, and it was lovely to have them here.
It was lush watching the dynamics between the three of them.
They were so naturally at ease with one another. Lots of chatting, lots of laughter, a bit of gentle banter, and just a really lovely energy around the table. 💚
Teresa arrived slightly less convinced about her creative abilities… There was definitely a bit of “Oh God, I’m not going to be able to do this!”
Well, Teresa… you absolutely could. And you absolutely did. 🌱
By the end, all three had created these beautiful little living worlds.
And what I loved was how completely different Kayleigh and Kirsten’s creations were from one another. Same materials, same space, same morning, but three individual terrariums that seemed to reflect three individual personalities.
That’s one of my favourite things about these workshops. There really isn’t a right version of what you’re supposed to create.
Sometimes the loveliest part isn’t even what you take home.
It’s the couple of hours you gave yourselves to be together. ❤️
And then we had a little unexpected bonus visitor… 💚
While we were busy creating, I spotted Zak
also known as PickWalks walking past the fence doing what Zac so often does… quietly getting on with his usual litter picking and looking after our community.
Obviously I couldn’t just let him walk past. 😂 So I called over and asked him to come and say hello!
It gave me the perfect opportunity to tell Teresa, Kayleigh and Kirsten about some of the brilliant work Zac does locally, and Zac
was able to share a little information about the latest organised community litter pick too
🌿♻️
And while we were talking about wonderful humans doing good things, I couldn’t resist giving our mate Jim, The Canoe River Cleaner a shout-out as well. Because apparently no Jen’s Den workshop is complete without me telling somebody about another brilliant person doing something positive for our environment and community. 😂💚
Zac popping by was an added bonus all round. One for me, because I always love seeing him, and one for the ladies because they got to hear a little more about some of the positive things happening right here in our community.
And actually, I think that sums up something I really love about Jen’s Den.
You might arrive to make a terrarium, but you never quite know who might wander past the fence, what conversations might happen, or what little connections might grow while you’re here. 🌱
Thank you Teresa, Kayleigh and Kirsten for choosing to spend some of your family time at Jen’s Den Nature Retreat. I thoroughly enjoyed having you, and I think the photographs say the rest. 💚
Three women. Three terrariums. One rather lovely morning together… with a surprise visit thrown in too. 🌿✨
