Are we actually getting healthier… or just living longer?
The Health Foundation has just published a report that made me pause.
In the UK, we’re now spending fewer years in good health than we were a decade ago. This is quite a shock, as we live in a world where there is tonnes of information on health, longevity, wellness… And despite trying to do all the right things, we are going backwards!!
Healthy Life Expectancy fell by 2 years in the last decade in the UK. This means that women are expected to live healthy up to 60.9 years of age, and men up to 60.7 years of age. This is way before retirement age!
And it’s not because people don’t care. Most of the clients I work with are trying, often very hard. But they’re overwhelmed.
There is too much advice, and too much pressure to follow trends, to get it right…
The truth is… health is generally a stack of simple daily habits that become part of what you do and part of your lifestyle, in an easy, enjoyable way.
And because there is no one size fits all, a health therapist can help you understand your body and work with it, not against it.
Because the goal is to live healthier, not just longer.
If this resonates, you’re not alone.
And you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.
A personalised nutritional consultation can help you cut through the noise, understand what your body truly needs, and build habits that feel realistic and sustainable for you.
