Ever wish you could reboot your body the way you restart a glitchy computer? We have something for that in Ayurveda. Panchakarma (literally ‘five procedures’) are a collection of five purifying techniques which are the Ayurvedic gold standard in disease treatment and prevention.

Improved digestive fire → better nutrient absorption
Reducing inflammation → calmer skin, joints, metabolism
Resetting gut–brain axis → steadier mood and sleep
Removing accumulated waste → more efficient cellular repair
Resetting appetite and cravings → metabolic clarity

Ayurveda has refined cleansing and digestive reset techniques for more than 3,000 years. Panchakarma draws on that lineage, offering structured ways to restore balance. Each technique has a different direction of action: downward (purge), inward/grounding (e***a), or upward/clearing (nasal).

I’ve written an article about panchakarma and offer it in my clinic - it doesn’t cost as much or take as long as you’d think. Do check out the link in bio (via the blog link).

Have you ever done panchakarma? I’d love to hear about it. Also, do message if you’ve got more questions.

An oil e***a 😁 Oil e***as are important, easy-to-do and incredibly effective procedures in Ayurveda and they’re not for what you think most of the time.

Most people associate e***as with helping to evacuate the bowel but in most cases, it is less about evacuating and more about installing nourishing herbal oils to support healthy functioning.

In my clinic I use oil e***as for:
- encouraging regular bowel movements
- helping with back and pelvic (and other types of) pain
- calming the nervous system
- depletion of tissues
- as a pre and post procedure for more cleansing decoction e***as (or for clients who insist on going for colonic irrigation)

I do these in the clinic or give clients instructions on how to carry these out at home (easier than you’d imagine).

Any thoughts on e***as? Maybe some opposing ‘love the idea’ - ‘hate the idea’ views here. I’d love to hear.

I’m berating myself for being a poor social media-ite today as I realise I haven’t done the customary thing and taken lots of selfies with people yesterday at Another part of me is celebrating myself for being immersed in the event and not touching my phone 🙂

It was such a well organised and enriching day, thank you , I could see how much work was put in.

Working mainly on my own as a practitioner, it is always lovely to be with others, finding common ground and learning from other ways of practice.

- Gabriella, I loved your kirtan and was going to come and say hello afterwards but had to dash as we were running late. Next time!
