Wow 5 years feels like such a huge milestone! I still remember like it was yesterday how I felt 5 years ago launching my little business to the world, I was so nervous and had no idea how it was going to go!
At that time our twins were aged 3 and I'd taken a career break to raise them, I'd previously worked in the NHS for 16 years and prior to that as a nursery nurse. I wanted to get back to the career I'm incredibly passionate about, supporting children and families emotional health, but wanted it to fit around my own family.
Hence Kangaroo Family Nurturing was born 🦘 🥰
I am immensely proud of how far Kangaroo has grown these last 5 years, as I sit typing this, reflecting on the journey so far it's hard to believe this is now my full-time job!
I have worked in many schools providing Play Therapy, Well-being support, Therapeutic groups, consultation for schools and staff training.
I have supported many children and parents as they navigate difficult times in their lives.
Over 100 families have benefitted from my Parent and baby nurture groups at a community venue. Including running these regularly for over a year at a residential assessment home for families.
I have provided emotional well-being groups and yoga sessions for the past 3 years as part of the Rossendale HAF summer programme
And for the past year I have run private sessions every Monday from the beautiful Therapy Rooms at Jenni’s House in Rossendale.
I'd like to thank from the bottom of my heart all the families, schools and organisations that trust me to do this amazing work that I am so passionate about. And all the incredible children who inspire me every single day.
I'm beyond thankful every day that I get to do what I do 💚💚

Running your own business is not easy at all, but seeing how far Kangaroo has grown, alongside our own children I'm feeling incredibly proud and I can't wait to see what the next 5 years brings.... although I'll then have two 13 year olds!! 😳 😅
