You may have seen this paper circulating lately.
The Body Does Not Keep the Score it seems to be all over my feed and becoming clickbait. As someone who just finished their dissertation on this topic, I wanted to offer a bit of context.

The authors aren’t dismissing body-based trauma work. They actually are affirming a lot of the underlying research. And they’re pointing toward flow states as a potential pathway to restoring the brain flexibility that trauma disrupts.

Good science builds on what came before. I think this is a good thing.

I don’t see this paper as a verdict on trauma therapy. It’s actually another piece of the puzzle.

Here is the paper in case you want to check it out.

1 degree hotter 🎓🔥

Today I can finally say …I am 1 Masters in Psychology hotter!

Credit to for this idea. I saw her post this when she completed her degree and knew I had to borrow it when my time came!

It’s been a full-on 2.5 years of hard work, long weekends and a lot of learning, and I am so ready to see what this next chapter brings.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and believed in me along the way 🙏✨

Taking on good habits is great, but sometimes addressing old habits is what is needed.

If you’ve spent years pushing past your limits, overriding what your body needs, or simply not listening to your body, that becomes the habit.

These well worn paths become so habitual, we begin to think that is who we are.

My latest Substack explores the first step to building a new relationship with your body including a gentle practice you can weave into your day, morning and evening.
Sometimes you don’t need to be doing more. It’s about listening in.

…more recent research has begun to re-imagine hope as something collective, contextual, and dynamic. That it is shaped not just by what “I” want or plan, but by meaning, relationship, and shared support.
This is the same message the Bhagavad Gita has been sharing all along…that hope stems from alignment with our values, community, and a deeper sense of meaning.

Growing up on Inis Meáin came with many beautiful traditions including this one pictured above (2/2). On the first of February, Lá Fhéile Bríde (Bridget’s day) is celebrated. She was originally a Celtic goddess.

We would make a little doll out of straw, a stick for arms and a pillow case, and adorn her with a little outfit (my mum did this) to represent little Bríd or a Brídeog as she is called.

Bríd is patron of poets, midwives, and healers and she brings blessings to our homes at this time of year.
The cold of winter has not yet lifted, but the seeds of spring and inspiration are resting just beneath the surface. And this ritual is a reminder of this time when Bríd walks close to the human world.

…All the little girls of the island would go around in pairs from house to house bestowing a little blessing to the house.

Rituals help see us through in challenging times, not as distraction but as a way to bolster our inner world through the darkest days.

This is (still my best bud to this day) and me both looking as stoic as the land we were raised on. 😂

The interesting thing about memory is that we don’t remember the original event, we are remembering the last time we remembered it.

That means memory is a living process shaped by our present moment current experience.

In yoga philosophy memory is smrti one of the five fluctuations of the mind as described by Patanjali.

You can read more in this weeks newsletter on my substack.

We will also be exploring the five fluctuations of the mind in class this week.

Standing at the threshold of 2026!

At this time of year, I can feel a collective pull to stretch the mind toward an imagined futures, make plans, intentions, and imagine possibilities.

That is ofcourse beautiful.

Yoga reminds us that those thresholds also exist within us, beckoning to be explored.

You can read more about the those inner thresholds through an exploration of the Koshas on my substack if you are curios.💚
