When your home has been filled for 18+ years with noise, laughter, tears, untidiness! and being needed every single day, it’s a huge change when your babies are grown, independent and no longer need you in the same way. The house gets quieter, routines shift, and that sense of purpose can feel like it’s missing, leaving you wondering where all the years went and what your place is now they no longer need you every day.
But that instinct to care and nurture doesn’t go anywhere. For some, that need to keep looking after others remains so strong and finding a way to use it again can bring such comfort.
You may not have worked in care before, but you don’t need to have care home experience to consider a role at Heanton, the attributes you need are already within you, built through years of caring. You already have the instinct to care, the compassion, the patience, the want to look after someone. With mentor support, continuous training programmes, supported by a 12 week induction, you’ll have everything you need to feel confident as you begin your journey with us.
