Sat out on the patio this morning, chatting and enjoying the sunshine, we all agreed Summer has arrived!
We continued our Ascot theme this week with a fabulous horse racing game, quizzes and watching some races.
Some of us have been enjoying the football too.
We’ve looked and the papers and talked about the news, played games, sang and laughed.

Hello everyone, we’ve been talking about King Charles today as it’s his birthday and the Trooping the colour is being held tomorrow. We’ve looked at his life and found out he once flew a plane to RAF Cranwell to train a pilot! Many of us said we are looking forward to watching the parade live from London.
We talked hats this week- looking at the fabulous creations worn at Royal Ascot. We have made our own, you’ll have to wait until next week for the pics (but we have sneaked one in).
Anna has hosted bingo AND musical bingo this week, with chocolate as the prize everyone is always keen to win!
Exercise was ball games on Tuesday and we had fun with quizzes, games and puzzles.

We had a fun morning on Wednesday when we had a trip into Lincoln on the bus. We had coffee and cake and enjoyed a bit of “people watching!” We will definitely be going again as it was a big success and plenty of laughs and smiles!
Thursday morning we celebrated a special lady’s birthday and had a visit from the fabulous Rainbow dreaming therapy ponies! Everyone loved them and we look forward to seeing them again.
This morning we watched the hits from “Summer holiday” and a lot of the ladies said they had a crush on Cliff Richard back in the day!

Quick update- We celebrated a special lady’s birthday on Sunday with cake and singing. It was a super surprise for her and the cake didn’t last long!
Monday Anna had us getting busy with different ball games. These are not only good fun but help to keep us active physically & mentally. Some of the ladies got stuck into folding a bit of laundry too!
This morning we had fun joining in with “Catchphrase”- it’s easy if you know the answer!
We invented a “balloon football” game today and we were surprised how high some of the guys could kick!

What a week! It was too hot for some of us to go outside, so on Wednesday we took ourselves to Greece! (Well, just in our dining chairs for an hour or two!) we talked about the food and culture and enjoyed a lunch of Greek salad, Moussaka and Baklava.
Anna held the weekly newspaper club outside in the sunshine and Amy went “armchair birdwatching!”
We had a special Birthday this week and celebrated with a gorgeous cake!
Charlie brought in his baby ducks and we all loved them!
And finally we had a pamper today with some residents opting to get their nails done and a hand massage.

This week we had a visit from the fabulous Ellmooicecreams! With several delicious flavours to choose from it was a difficult decision! We also had a visit from the Heighington Parish Council, the ladies enjoyed a chat and we caught up on everything we’ve been doing.
On Wednesday we had a good talk about fashions through the decades and wondered if we’d have any cosmetic procedures if we were offered them for free- the verdict was a solid NO! We’ve played Bingo and done quizzes too.
Yesterday we had a bit of a photoshoot for pics for our new poster advertising our Daycare facility. Daycare is available to entertain a loved one, lunch and activities are included, contact us if you are interested or want more details.
We are in full swing organising our Summer Fair. Please contact Anna/Amy if you are interested in having a stall.

Good afternoon.
We had a lovely time Wednesday welcoming our little friends from pre school. It’s always fun and loud with them. Yesterday we said goodbye to our lovely carer Beth. She’s beginning a new role and we wish her all the best, thank you for everything and we will miss you lots! In the afternoon we popped to the jubilee hall in the village for a cuppa and games, and a chat with locals. This morning we played games and enjoyed one to one chats. Have a great weekend from us all here at Beckfield
