Meningitis B Vaccination for Students Starting University or College

From 27 August 2026, eligible young people can book their MenB vaccination appointment through the National Booking Service (NBS) Or call pharmacy for help.

You may be eligible if you:
✅ Are under 25 years old
✅ Were born on or after 21 July 2001
✅ Are starting university for the first time, or starting certain further education colleges for the first time and living in student accommodation

💉 Two doses are needed for the best protection against meningococcal B disease. The second dose should be given at least 28 days after the first dose.

📅 After receiving your first vaccination, please book your second dose through the National Booking Service.

From 20 July 2026, pharmacies in England will began offering the MenB (meningococcal vaccine as part of a new NHS programme for eligible young people.

The programme is for:
1. 17–18-year-olds born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008, and
2. People aged up to 24 starting university or certain residential further education courses for the first time.
