Holme Valley Singers present a Christmas Concert With The Sundown Swing Band

Sunday 20th December 2026, 4.00pm to 6.00pm

Holme Valley Singers are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year, they are a mixed voice choir with a wide musical repertoire including popular, secular and Christmas music. At this Christmas concert they’ll be singing a variety of songs including Carol of the bells, Christmas Pops and the Holly and the Ivy.

Sundown Swing formed in 2011 is a popular 16-17 piece big band based in Huddersfield. The band play well-known swing, big band and Latin music from the 1930s and 1940s onwards featuring music from artists like Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald.

Doors open at 3.15pm, this is a fully seated event and seats are on a first come first served basis. Bar and refreshments available throughout the afternoon.

Tickets cost £12.00 for adults and under 16’s are free, and are available in person or over the phone from The Civic Box Office during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 2.30pm) with no booking fee or online via the ticket link on The Civic website (with a booking fee).

A huge thank you to the incredibly talented April Key Studio for bringing a little extra light and creativity to Holmfirth!

Over the past few months, April has transformed the former cobbler’s shop into a wonderful showcase of contemporary art, treating us to seven amazing light installations, each bringing something different to our village.

It’s been fantastic to see such a small space used in such an imaginative way, brightening up our streets and giving locals and visitors something new to enjoy.

Thank you, April, for sharing your creativity with us and helping make Holmfirth an even more interesting, inspiring and lovely place to be! We’ve loved seeing your work light up our village!

After a challenging couple of years for Holmfirth, it’s time to come together and celebrate our town while supporting our brilliant local businesses!

Organised by Huddersfield and District Round Table, and funded by Kirklees Council, the day promises free live music, family entertainment, activities and plenty of community spirit!

Win the ‘Freedom of Holmfirth’! Shop locally on Friday 23rd or Saturday 24th October, write your name and phone number on your receipt and pop it into the prize draw box next to the stage on the new car park before 5pm on Saturday. You could win a fantastic bundle of prizes and vouchers donated by local businesses!

Many local shops, cafés and businesses will also be running special offers and promotions, so keep an eye out for those!

A concert featuring exhilarating performances from Huddersfield Choral Society Youth Choirs and Slaithwaite Band .

Doors open at 6.15pm, this is a fully seated event and seats are on a first come first served basis. Bar available throughout the evening.

Tickets cost £10.00 for adults, £5.00 for children under 16 and are available in person or over the phone during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 2.30pm) from a Foresters Member or vial the ticket link on The Civic website.

All proceeds in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Beatles Complete - Tribute Band - A Tribute To The Fab Four

Saturday 5th June 2027, 7.30pm to 10.00pm

DIRECT FROM THE WORLD FAMOUS CAVERN CLUB, LIVERPOOL

Beatles Complete present a night of Beatlemania packed with massive hits from the most influential band of all time.

Having now performed over 300 shows at the world-famous Cavern Club, this Liverpool based ‘beat combo’ are the youngest ever Beatles band to gain a residency at the Cavern Club in Liverpool where they still perform on Thursdays and some Saturdays. All aged in their early 20s, Beatles Complete are the closest thing you will get to the unbridled joy of seeing the young Beatles when they first lit up the world. They can’t promise all the screaming and tears from the 60’s but they can give you a host of classic songs brilliantly performed by a band who are becoming a force to be reckoned with in the Beatle world.

Having performed at International Beatle Week for the last 5 years running, the lads have been invited to return again next year and are continuing to take their extended show to theatres across the UK. The band has also appeared on the BBC and on TV in Japan and The Netherlands.

This show is not to be missed by all Beatles fans performed by a band who are quickly making a name for themselves due to their musical prowess, boundless energy and easy Liverpool wit. The Beatles were a phenomena in musical history, Beatles Complete remind you why.

Looking for something to do for an hour if you are in Holmfirth centre on Sunday?

Sunday 27th, at roughly between 11.30am-12.30pm we will have a parade of cars driving through the centre.

For anyone who would like to come see and wave us through 👋

Should be a good one for all the kids (and big kids) to see 😍

Whilst we can never promise loads of cars, as we never know how many people will give up their time (and stupidly expensive petrol now) to join us. Please don’t hate us if only ten come through haha!

But last time we did this we had 120 with us. So let’s see too😊🚗📸 we can’t wait 🎉

It’s all in aid of the charity Youths At Work too, so if you see drivers with buckets please try have a bit of cash on you to throw their way, as this would be Amazing to help us out 🚗📸
