This photo isn't about fish and chips. It's about what they represent.
For someone else, it's just lunch by the sea. For this client, it was a small act of freedom. It was finally saying yes to something she'd wanted to do for years.
When this client first came to see me just over a week ago, she described living in a constant state of fear. Waiting for something to go wrong. Overthinking every decision. Struggling to enjoy life because her mind was always preparing for the worst.
As we were talking, she mentioned she'd always wanted to have fish and chips on the beach... but somehow she'd never actually done it.
After our second session, she sent me this photo.
It made me smile because behind the box of fish and chips, I could see someone starting to choose themselves. Starting to trust themselves a little more. Giving themselves permission to simply enjoy life again.
Sometimes the smallest moments are the clearest signs that something inside us has already started to change.
