I hope everyone has had a lovely day?
I'm sharing a little something from my garden and a reflection of appreciation that I feel for nature this time of year.

Having a healthy relationship with ourselves isn't always easy. Self-doubt and negative self-judgments can often shape how we see ourselves, impacting our confidence and sense of worth.

In the counselling room, we take time to explore these patterns of relating, both to ourselves and to others. Together, we begin to develop a more compassionate inner voice, gently turning down the volume of self-criticism and replacing "What's wrong with me?" with "What do I need right now?"

The kinder the relationship you have with yourself, the stronger the foundation for every other relationship in your life.

Sometimes we can't always see things clearly. We struggle to be the person we feel inside. That's okay 🫢

πŸ’š Mental Health Awareness Week πŸ’š

The importance of good mental health, to challenge stigma and help promote actions that we can all take to support our mental health.

This year's theme is
Recognising the importance of turning awareness into positive change.

I thought it would be fun to share some of the things that help me improve my own mental health.

I have grown an awareness that without these things in my life my mental health suffers.

I've always wondered why I find symmetry and repeating patterns so calming. Now I know there is some science behind this.

Research suggests that taking a moment to pause and look at calming images may have a positive effect on mental wellbeing. Fractals are never-ending, complex patterns that naturally occur in nature.
Spending time observing them can be a gentle and visually soothing addition to meditation and relaxation practices.

Talking to someone can feel like one of the hardest things to do, and it’s okay if you feel unsure, don’t know where to start, or can’t fully understand why you’re unhappy. A counsellor’s role is to help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings with gentleness, compassion, and understanding.
Supporting you every step of your journey.

National Walking Month πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ

Walking gives me the chance to slow down and reconnect with the world around me, noticing the movement of the trees in the wind, the shifting patterns of the clouds, and the quiet details of nature I often overlook.

More than that, it gives me space to think, process, and reflect.

Feeling a sense of belonging is deeply important in life, whether within your family, a circle of friends, or a wider community. It’s something many of us need more than we realise. That’s why taking the time to check in with one another matters so much; a simple message or conversation can make a real difference.

Isolation and loneliness are powerful experiences, and they often sit at the heart of struggles like depression. Staying connected, even in small ways, helps remind us that we’re not alone, and that we’re part of something that cares.
