Grangewood is a bright and welcoming care home offering gold standard residential care for older people, including those living with dementia. The purpose-built care home is set in the village of Shiney Row, close to Houghton-le-Spring in Tyne and Wear. The home has a strong community atmosphere and is close to the local village library, medical centre and various churches. There's also a post off

ice and a pub on the doorstep, and good transport links, which all helps residents to retain their independence. All of the bedrooms at Grangewood have en-suite facilities and are stylishly furnished. Your loved one is welcome to bring their own treasured possessions and items of furniture to help them to feel more at home.

What a wonderful day we’ve had filled with smiles, laughter, and wellbeing! 🎶💃

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic day of singing and dancing, bringing back treasured memories and creating new ones with friends. We then made the most of the beautiful weather with relaxing wellness walks, taking in the fresh air and enjoying the beauty around us. 🌳☀️

The pampering continued with soothing hand massages and lovely nail treatments, helping everyone feel relaxed, refreshed, and truly special. 💅💖

It’s days like these that remind us how important it is to nurture both body and mind while having lots of fun along the way!

🌟 Marvelous Monday at Grangewood Care Home 🌟

What a wonderful way to start the week! Our ladies enjoyed a lovely Knit and Natter session, spending time together sharing stories, laughter, friendships, and of course plenty of knitting. 🧶💕

There is something truly special about coming together, reminiscing, and creating memories while enjoying each other’s company.

To finish our day, we wrapped up warm and headed out for a refreshing wellness walk, taking in the fresh air and beautiful surroundings. 🚶‍♀️🌳☀️

Today at Grangewood we turned back the clock and stepped into the fabulous 1980s! Bright colours, classic tunes, and plenty of dancing filled our home with joy and laughter. From singing along to favourite hits to sharing cherished memories of nights on the dance floor, everyone enjoyed a wonderful trip down memory lane.

The smiles were contagious as residents, relatives, and team members came together to celebrate the music and memories that make life so special. It was a day filled with friendship, fun, laughter, and lots of colourful 80s vibes!
