A year since the first U.K. lockdown. The impact of the pandemic features in all of my sessions with clients at the moment. Loss of a loved one, loss of social connections, loss of the commute to work and being alongside colleagues. Not being able to hug the people who can bring comfort. Not being able to escape difficult situations within the four walls of ‘home’. The impact goes on and on and will do for some time yet. Here’s hoping some healing can also start to happen. ❤️

Mother’s Day is a reminder that life is a big mix of emotions. A reminder that happiness can live alongside sorrow. Perhaps the best way is to allow both emotions to freely flow and to never place expectations on yourself to be entirely ‘happy’, entirely ‘content’. Life is a mix. ❤️

Many clients are saying how much they want face to face sessions at the moment. Lots of people are spending their working week at home, on Zoom or Teams or trying to home school. I’m fortunate enough to be able to offer face to face sessions following all Covid-19 safety measures. Phone and video call sessions are also available for clients who would prefer to stay at home. Talking with someone who isn’t friends, family or colleagues can often help to ease the things that are troubling you. It can be difficult to know where to begin but sometimes you just know you would like to feel less anxious, less down. Things can get in your way and stop you living life the way you would like to. Counselling can help you to work through things so that life can maybe begin to feel a little easier.

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day. A lovely day for many people, a tough day for others. Occasions like that stir many mixed emotions. Take good care of yourself, your emotional health and your mental wellbeing.
Counselling is just one way of looking after your emotional health. There are other ways, maybe a long walk or listening to music you love. Find what works for you. And take the time you need.
