For this workshop, The Wild Mane Project becomes a nature-filled Creative Studio 🌼🍃 🌿

Children will head out across both fields gathering leaves, grasses, flowers, sticks, and little nature finds before turning them into their own nature-inspired artwork outdoors ☀️

No two creations will look the same 🌼🍂🪵

A lovely way to spend a morning in the second week of half term, outdoors, exploring, making things, and the fresh air at The Wild Mane Project 🌳

The ponies got their Water Buffet today and safe to say it went down well in this weather ☀️🐴

Monty was already waiting by the gate because he knew exactly what was coming 😂

Before Esmeray and Teddy had even made it over, Monty was already busy testing every bucket in the buffet like a professional taste tester. By the time the others arrived, he had fully made himself at home 😭🌿💧

Alongside their fresh water, we give extra buckets with natural ingredients added, allowing them to choose what they feel drawn to. Some help encourage drinking, some help cool them down, and some support things like digestion, hydration, and general wellbeing.

Water buffets are a brilliant way of keeping horses interested in drinking during hot weather, especially for ponies like ours who live out 24/7. And honestly… watching their different personalities come out around the buckets is one of our favourite things 😂

A hour of nature, creativity, exploring, and making things from the world around us 🌱

Children and teens will head out into the field to create woodland crafts, nature art, stick creations, and outdoor projects using natural materials they find along the way 🪵🍃🍀

It’s relaxed, hands-on, outdoors, and full of the kind of fun that lets kids actually use their imagination again ✨

“Hi honey, I’m home” 🐴🤎

The ponies have officially arrived at their new home in Dane Bank.
Still a lot to do, a lot to mend, and a lot of mud to walk through first… but they’re here.

Today was less about perfect fences and finished spaces, and more about ears forward, heads down in the grass, and that moment where they realised this place is theirs now.

Thank you to everyone supporting The Wild Mane Project as we build this next chapter together. 🐴🌳

A little change of plan for when the ponies will be moving to their new home in Dane Bank… 🐴

They will now be moving during the week instead, so keep an eye out for updates 👀

We’d really appreciate dogs being kept on leads around the area and people sticking to the pathway from Thornley Lane South to Fairview Road. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe and settled 🐴

Thank you to all of the amazing and kind-hearted volunteers, who turned out to help with our clean-up and show your support on Saturday, at our new horses field in Dane Bank. Your help and support is much appreciated and means a lot.
I have never seen so much glass dumped in my life, and clearing it is a big job.
