These packages of Nettle woven into bars of soap, are on their way to a lovely customer to work their magic. I remember harvesting these nettles, I remember because each harvest is unique, and spoken into being by the plants themselves. I am always listening. Rarely do I ‘decide’ what to make, which plants to work with or have much of a plan. I work intuitively with the wisdom of these sentient beings, our rooted kin. It can happen anytime, the whisper. I might be hanging out the washing or walking with my dog, and the message will come, so insistently that I cannot ignore it. Timing is everything. The vibrant earthy green scent might be the first prompt, or movement may catch my eye as they dance with the wind. And once they have my attention the message is clear. We are ready! Let us weave some magic together. The healing properties of nettle are numerous. This batch of soap has nettle blended with cedar oil & organic oats. It is soothing, anti inflammatory, cleansing. After trying one bar this lovely lady placed an order for 4 more, and this is what she had to say… “I gave it to my daughter and it is clearing up her awful psoriasis, which usually only strong steroid cream keep at bay. Glimmers. Moments of enchantment. ✨ A tickle on the palm of my hand might, in the midst of life’s million distractions, be brushed off without a thought. Yet when I bring my attention to the tickle, pause just long enough in curiosity, I find gold. A glimmering beetle, & the gift of sunlight, caught in my hand. A moment of magick just enough to remind me of it all. A golden key that weaves me back into connection. Into wholeness.
