I've just shared something quite personal — and I think many of you will connect with it.

It's about what drives this work we do.

About a life-changing trip to Australia, a moment near Uluru that transformed a Connected Kids course from "lovely" into something genuinely profound, and my own journey through grief and healing that has shaped everything I teach.

"Teaching children meditation is essential for the well-being of humankind... The more we invest in teaching children to meditate, the more we invest in a future that values connection, empathy, and the planet."

For those of you already on this path — I hope this is a reminder of why you started. For anyone still considering it — perhaps this is your turning point.

You Already Have What the Trauma Sector Is Missing. Here Is How to Use It.

Last weekend, Bulgaria's DARA won Eurovision 2026, and I genuinely could not stop thinking about what she said.

"Bangaranga is the moment that you choose to lead through love and not fear."

She spoke about the heart chakra as the source of that energy. And if you have ever guided a child through a meditation, even once, you already know exactly what she means. That quality of warm, open, grounded presence you bring to a session. The moment a child's shoulders drop. Their breathing slows. Something in them trusts. That is a heart connection. You know how to do this. You may just not realise how rare and how needed it truly is.

Because here is what I have seen from the other side.

I fostered children for ten years alongside my work with Connected Kids. Many of those children had experienced trauma. And what struck me again and again was not that they lacked professional support. Many had plenty of that. What they lacked was someone who could bring exactly the quality you bring to your meditation sessions into every interaction. That steady, loving, non-reactive presence. That ability to sit with a child without needing them to be anything other than who they are.

The professionals around them were doing their best. But the system they worked within was running on fear. Fear of mistakes. Fear of missing something. Fear of getting it wrong. And fear, however understandable, closes the heart. It creates distance. It turns presence into procedure.

For a child who has learned through painful experience that the world is not safe, that distance does not feel neutral. It confirms everything trauma has already taught them.

I eventually found that the weight was too much to carry personally. Stepping back from fostering was one of the hardest lessons of my life.
But it led somewhere important.

I have been commissioned to develop a brand new course, and this is where I think it will speak directly to you.

You already have something that most trauma professionals are never taught. You understand stillness. You understand how to regulate yourself. You understand how to hold a space with warmth and intention. You understand the heart chakra not as a concept but as a lived experience you bring to your work with children every week.

This course takes that foundation and builds on it. It introduces trauma-sensitive mindful skills so that you understand what is happening in the body and brain of a child who has experienced trauma, and how your meditation practice is already doing more good than you may realise. It then goes further, showing you how to deepen that heart connection intentionally, how to recognise when a child needs it most, and how to sustain it even when things feel difficult.

You do not need to be a therapist or a social worker to take this course. You need to be someone who works with children, who already understands the power of mindful presence, and who wants to understand more deeply why it works and how to use it with the children who need it most.

If that is you, the waiting list is now open, and I would love for you to be part of this.

Tell me in the comments, have you ever had a moment in a session where you felt something shift in a child that you could not quite explain? I have a feeling you have. That moment is exactly what this course is about.
