A little behind the scenes of me mapping up the first of three Non-Surgical Facelift patients yesterday — lots of chatting, laughing, planning… and my serious concentration face making an appearance 😂

You’re watching the part everyone worries about… 👀👄

Yes, Lip Blush involves a needle — but probably not in the way you’re imagining.

Rather than creating a heavy, tattooed lipstick effect, pigment is gradually built through the lips to create a soft enhancement of your natural colour and definition.

One of the biggest questions I get is: “Does it hurt?”

The lips are kept as comfortable as possible throughout treatment, and most clients are surprised by how manageable they find the appointment.

Immediately afterwards, the colour WILL look brighter and bolder than your finished result — so don’t panic! As the lips heal, the colour softens considerably.

The goal isn’t for someone to look at you and think “lip tattoo”.

It’s for them to think your lips just look really good. 🤍

If your skincare suddenly stings, your face feels tight after cleansing or your skin has become red, flaky and unusually reactive, it may not need another new product—it may need a break.

A disrupted skin barrier can sometimes be mistaken for dryness, sensitivity or even “purging,” which can lead to adding more acids, exfoliants and active ingredients. Unfortunately, that can keep the cycle going.

Good skincare isn’t about using the strongest products or having the longest routine. It’s about recognising what your skin needs at that particular moment—and sometimes, that means simplifying everything.

If irritation is persistent, severe or accompanied by swelling, blistering, crusting or a spreading rash, seek advice from an appropriate medical professional.

From barely-there, sparse natural brows → to beautifully defined. 🤎

These brows are fresh off the needle, so they’re currently at their darkest and the shape and lines are at their sharpest and harshest. Over the next few weeks, the lines will soften, the colour will cool and the pigment can fade by as much as 60%, leaving a much softer, more natural healed result.

You may also notice a warmer/red tone underneath and around the brows immediately after treatment. This is a completely normal response from the skin following treatment and is not the pigment colour. As the skin settles, this redness and warmth will subside, allowing the true pigment tone to show through.

My lovely client wanted to go slightly darker than the brow pencil she usually wears — which you can see in the last photo — and I think we absolutely nailed it. ✨

The new shape and definition have completely opened up her face while still working beautifully with her natural features. And most importantly… one very happy client. 🤍

Remember: fresh permanent makeup is not the finished result. The brows you see immediately after treatment are at their boldest — the real magic is seeing how beautifully they soften once healed.
