There were plenty of smiles, a few new dance moves, and more than enough tea and cake to go around at our Dancing for Dementia tea dances this week 💃🕺

Our Solihull and Knowle and Dorridge Memory Cafés brought people together for music, laughter, conversation, and some brilliant live performances from Aura Dance Studios.

Lynne from Aura Dance Studios got everyone involved with line dancing, while Libbi and Eden had the whole room watching in awe with two fantastic performances. Before long, plenty of people were up on their feet joining in and showing off their own moves! 🪩

At our Solihull event, it was also wonderful to welcome the Mayor of Solihull, Sardul Marwa MBE, and Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP, who both joined in with the fun and even took to the dance floor

We're also so grateful to Tesco Knowle for kindly donating cakes and baked treats for both events, and to Solihull Indoor Bowls Club for being such wonderful hosts throughout the morning ☕

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along and helped raise money for Dementia UK and Alzheimer's Society. It was a lovely reminder of what a supportive community we have 💙

Sometimes, it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference in care 💚

Making tea how someone likes it ☕
Reading the newspaper together 📰
Remembering their routines 🏡
Taking time to listen 👂

In this episode of The Care Podcast, Lucy, People Director at Unique Senior Care, talks about what really helps people feel safe, comfortable and cared for at home — and why trust is built through the small everyday moments.

We had such a lovely morning at our very first Kenilworth Memory Café on Wednesday. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, bingo, stone painting, and even some gentle Love to Move exercises together 🧡

It was also so nice to welcome Alison Insley, the new Kenilworth Mayor, along with Claire and Vicki the Guide Dog 🐾

One of our clients recently spent the day out in the community alongside Caregiver Danni, supporting with leaflet deliveries around Leamington 👟📬

The day provided a great opportunity to build confidence, routine, and independence while taking part in meaningful activity out in the local community. At the end of the day, he was proud to receive payment for his contribution too.

A brilliant day all round 👏

🧡 We already know our Training Team is amazing, but there’s nothing better than hearing it from a new Caregiver following our recent pre-employment training days.

Every Caregiver completes a minimum of four days’ training to help ensure they feel confident, supported, and well equipped to provide high quality care to our clients.

One of our new Caregivers kindly left this thoughtful card and surprised the team with chocolates as a thank you for the support and encouragement they received throughout training 🍫

A lovely gesture and very well deserved feedback for the team 👏

🎨 One of our clients has been creating some incredible colouring artwork, with each piece full of creativity, patience, and attention to detail.

With the support of his wonderful mum, the artwork is now being framed and sold to help raise money for charity - turning a personal passion into something really meaningful.

A brilliant achievement and some amazing artwork to match 👏

What many people don’t see about care is how much the little conversations matter 💙✨

In this clip, Beckie talks about having the time to properly connect with clients during visits, not just supporting with day-to-day tasks, but helping someone feel brighter, more confident, and less alone.

For some clients, their Caregiver may be the only person they see that day, and those moments of connection can make a real difference 🌸
