🕊️ PMDD, Trauma, and Our Nervous System
A gentle reflection for our community group...
When we are already working hard to heal from trauma and manage our nervous system, a condition like Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) can feel like an overwhelming storm.
During the luteal phase, the sudden drop in hormones can interact intensely with a sensitive nervous system. For many women in our community, it can feel like a sudden setback.
Why PMDD Feels Doubly Heavy in Healing:
⚡ The Emotional Trigger: The intense mood swings, sudden anger, or deep sadness can mimic old trauma responses, making you feel unsafe in your own body.
🧠 The Hypervigilance: Anxiety can spike out of nowhere, putting your brain back on "high alert" even when everything around you is calm.
😔 The Internal Critic: A wave of self-blame or shame can convince you that you aren't making progress, when in reality, you are dealing with a biological shift.
A gentle reminder for our space: You are not losing ground on your healing journey. Your body is navigating a profound biological vulnerability. What you are feeling is real, it is heavy, but it is temporary.
Holding Space for Yourself This Week:
Lower the stakes: Your only job during a PMDD flare is comfort and safety. Drop the pressure to "fix" it.
Practice grounding: When the emotional waves feel too intense, focus on small, physical comforts—a heavy blanket, a warm drink, or the feel of your feet on the floor.
Be incredibly gentle with your narrative: Remind yourself, "This is my biology shifting right now, not a reflection of my worth or my progress."
Our group is a safe harbor, especially on the days when your own mind feels stormy. You don't have to navigate the highs and lows alone.
If you are riding the wave of a difficult week, please feel free to use this space to safely vent, share, or simply drop a 🤍 to let us know you're holding on. We are here with you.

Trauma & PTSD can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re carrying everything on your own — but you don’t have to do this alone.

Our Bring 2gether CIC Trauma & PTSD Support Group is a gentle, welcoming space for anyone who’s been through something life‐changing and is struggling with the impact it’s had on their life, emotions, or day‐to‐day coping.

We meet every week in Kettering:

🕑 Thursdays: 2pm – 4pm

📍 Kettering

We are currently in the process of finding a place for a new group in Northampton in the evening and Wellingborough during the day.

This group is for you if you’re feeling: • stuck • overwhelmed • unable to move forward • anxious, low, or on edge • unsure how to cope • isolated or alone with it all

Each week we explore a different feeling or experience linked to trauma — things like anxiety, anger, panic, low mood, fear, hypervigilance, or emotional numbness. You’ll learn why these reactions happen, how trauma affects the brain, and gentle ways to manage day‐to‐day life.

You’ll also meet others who genuinely get it — no judgement, no pressure, just support.

Cost: £5 per session (this covers room hire, materials, and refreshments). We’re a small community group, and every contribution helps keep the sessions running.

If you’d like to come along, please message me so I know who to expect. And if you have any questions at all, just reach out — you won’t be bothering me.

You deserve support, understanding, and a space where you don’t have to pretend you’re okay. You’re welcome here.

Do you ever feel like everything is landing on you at once? The house, the kids, the appointments, the bills, the expectations… and you’re trying to keep going even though you’re exhausted inside.

Some days it feels like you’re holding everything together with sheer willpower, and even the smallest thing can tip the balance. If you’re reading this and thinking, “That’s me,” please know you’re not the only one feeling this way.

At Bring 2gether CIC, we understand how overwhelming life can get. You don’t have to pretend you’re fine or carry it all alone. We’re here to help you slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and find ways to feel more in control again.

You deserve support. You deserve space to breathe. And you deserve to feel like yourself again — and we’re here to walk that journey with you.
Message me, and lets see how I can help you

Small Group. Big Healing. 🌿
When you’ve experienced family trauma, childhood wounds, or the isolation of bullying, large crowds can feel overwhelming. That’s why at Bring 2gether CIC, we do things differently.
We are opening spots for our Trauma & PTSD Support Group, and we keep it intentionally small.
Safe. Private. Personal.
Our groups are limited spaces for 6 people. That’s it.
We keep our circles small so that:
Your voice is never lost in the crowd.
True safety and trust can be built between members.
Personalized support is at the heart of every session.
Is this group for you?
If you are looking for a space to process the past—whether it's the weight of childhood bullying or the complexities of family dynamics—without the pressure of a large "classroom" setting, we are here for you.
As a CIC (Community Interest Company), our mission is to bring people together in a way that feels human, manageable, and deeply supportive.
Reserve Your Spot
Because we cap our groups at 6 participants, spaces fill up quickly.
🗓️ When? Thursday
Time: 2 - 4pm
📍 Location: Kettering & Online
✨ Investment in Yourself: £5 a session includes refreshments
Ready to step out of isolation and into a safe circle?
💬 Send us a DM today to see if this group is the right fit for your journey.

When Stress Presses on Old Trauma
Stress doesn’t just make the day feel heavy — it can poke at places we’ve worked hard to heal.
Sometimes it’s something big and sudden.
Sometimes it’s tiny things stacking up until your body says, “Nope, that’s enough.”
For people living with trauma, stress can hit differently.
It can pull up old memories, trigger survival mode, or make the world feel unsafe even when nothing dangerous is happening.
It can show up as panic, shutting down, irritability, numbness, tears, or that feeling of being “right back there” without wanting to be.
And the hardest part is that from the outside, it can look like “just a bad day.”
People see the burst tyre, the broken bag, the sugar everywhere.
They don’t see the history it stirred, the overwhelm underneath, or the strength it took to keep going.
At Bring 2gether CIC, we know stress and trauma are deeply connected — and neither makes you weak.
Your reactions make sense.
Your body is trying to protect you.
And you don’t have to navigate any of it alone.
If you’re feeling it at the moment, reach out.
Our trauma‑informed groups are here to support you, whether your stress arrived like a sudden storm or crept in quietly over time.

After trauma, you might mourn the person you used to be
It’s not just the event that hurts. It’s the quiet, aching loss of who you were before.
Many people tell us they feel like strangers to themselves after trauma. The confidence, joy, trust, energy, or ease they once had feels distant—or gone. And that loss can be just as painful as the trauma itself.
You might miss the version of you who laughed more easily.
Who felt safe in their own skin.
Who didn’t flinch at certain sounds, words, or memories.
Who could rest.
Who could connect.
Who could hope.
That grief is real. And you deserve space to feel it.
At Bring 2gether CIC, we offer trauma-informed group support that honours the full impact of trauma—including the loss of self. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay. You don’t have to explain why it’s hard. You just have to show up, and we’ll meet you with compassion, understanding, and community.
🧡 You’re not broken. You’re grieving. And you’re not alone.
If you’re living with trauma and want to explore support in a gentle, inclusive space, you’re welcome to reach out. We offer groups in Northamptonshire and online.
