a l i t t l e s u p p o r t . . .

This was how my yoga practice started this morning.

Restorative child’s pose, plenty of support, and absolutely no rush to move onto the next pose.

From there, I gradually moved into something a little deeper, but I wanted to begin by giving my body exactly what it needed (and I think there’s a little lesson in that for all of us).

I don’t think we always need to challenge ourselves more. Sometimes, we need to give ourselves permission to do a little less, soften into where we are and let ourselves be supported.

We can be so quick to think we need to push further, go deeper or do more to make something count. And during times of stress, injury or whatever, that can be exactly what our bodies don’t need.

So here’s a little reminder this morning that gifting yourself a little time to move in this way counts. This is yoga, too 🫶

The supported poses, gentler days and all the moments when we choose to work with our bodies rather than push against them - I think this applies to life just as much as it does to movement! We all need a little extra support sometimes.

So here’s a little reminder from my mat this morning to meet yourself where you are, and know that it’s enough.

h e a l t h d a y 🌿

I’ve always been a highly sensitive person (HSP), with anxiety going hand in hand with that for much of my life. And the more I learn about neurodiversity, the more that resonates too…

I feel things deeply, process a lot and can become overwhelmed when there’s too much going on. But I’m also capable, driven and someone who gets things done 💪🏻

For 20+ years, I pushed myself through a career and a way of living that didn’t always sit comfortably with who I was. I kept going because I needed to. But being able to function doesn’t necessarily mean you’re thriving, and just because you can keep going doesn’t mean it isn’t costing you something.

Eventually, the stress and sheer pace of everything took their toll. I hit burnout after returning to work following back-to-back pregnancies, into a promotion.

Retraining, stepping away from corporate life and creating a working environment that better suits who I am has been a huge part of my healing. Over the last 8/9 years, I’ve been learning to honour my sensitivity, work at my own pace and recognise what I need. I’ve even managed to let go of a lot of my perfectionism (recovering perfectionist here 🙋🏼‍♀️).

I still get overwhelmed. I still have days when everything feels like a bit much and days when I recognise what’s happening but don’t necessarily have the energy or ability to shift it. Days where no one would even notice any of that going on!

And today, is one of them. In fact, this whole week has been a week of ‘those days’!

Perhaps the difference now is that I notice, and I can soften my expectations and allow myself to be human. And this is a big part of why I work the way that I do; 3 days a week and no more than 5 clients a day because I know that’s my limit.

And this is part of why I do what I do. I know what it’s like to spend years pushing through, and how important it is to have a space where you can pause, exhale and reconnect with yourself.

So, tonight that looks like a takeaway and snuggling under a blanket. I just hope I can calm the mental chatter enough to enjoy my book for a bit.

It’s ok not to always be ok 🤍🫶

A u t u m n R e t r e a t 🍂

A little look back at a really beautiful day 🥹

We moved, breathed, rested, ate, listened, laughed and simply gave ourselves permission to slow down.

And I feel particularly grateful for this one because some of you travelled quite a distance to spend the day with me (and a few of you, not for the first time 🥹).

Thank you to every woman who joined me, and to Emma from for holding such a beautiful TRE session, for the sound and sharing those gorgeous heartfelt words from the poem you prepared, and everyone who helped make the day what it was.

The feedback afterwards made my heart burst:

“Everything is so thoughtfully put together… it all flows in such a calm, unhurried way.”

“You really get the chance to switch off and just be.”

(I loved) “The general feel of calm and welcome.”

And perhaps my favourite:

“I always leave feeling calmer, lighter and so glad I went.” 🤍

And now, we turn towards winter…

My next retreat is a little different.

A cosy Winter Retreat, with yoga to begin the day, a beautiful wreath-making workshop with local award winning florist , which follows our hearty winter brunch and of course, sound healing to bring us gently towards the end of the day.

A chance to make something beautiful, nourish yourself, and take a proper pause before the rush of December begins.

There are currently a few places booked, but there is still space for you around the table.

If that sounds like something you need, I’d love to welcome you. Autumn has had her turn, and now it’s winter’s…

Drop ‘Winter’ in the comments for more info, and I’ll do the rest 🤍

All for today’s clients - Reflexology for women’s health & a Radiance Ritual are on today’s schedule 💆🏻‍♀️

A slower start to the morning after running my lovely Autumn retreat yesterday (more on that later) 🥹

Whilst I refresh the room ahead of each client, Mondays always involve a full reset:

🌷 Fresh flowers in my Frida vase always brighten the room - this week’s choice is a white bouquet - white is the colour aligned to Autumn according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (always intentional choices at The Haven 🥰)

🧼 Full dust, hoover & wipe down and clearing the energy with Palo Santo is a must 👌

🛌 Preparing the treatment bed ready for you to sink into 😴

🤍 Preparing the little details for your arrival, always

Monday, let’s go ✨

Yes, my toes match the walls at The Haven 😅 Thanks 😘

When it came to choosing the colour scheme for The Haven, dark green was a bit of a last minute change of heart. My space (& branding) has been a dark aubergine for years, but as soon as I saw the cedar wood against the newly planted laurel trees, I began to feel the pull of green.

Narrowing down my paint swatches to two, left me with with an obvious choice - Weathering the Storm’. This one felt symbolic, as after all, many of my clients will continue to walk through the door during the eye of their own personal storm.

The Haven and I are here to hold your hand, sit in that hole with you and weather the storm for as long as we are needed.

I ‘ v e b e e n w a i t i n g

Waiting until the garden is finished, until every plant is in, until the room styling is ‘just right’ - basically until everything looks exactly as I imagined it would.

But I’ve realised this week I was doing that thing we all do sometimes - waiting for everything to be perfect before allowing ourselves to begin.

So, let me just stop myself right there, and introduce…

🍃 T h e H a v e n 🍃

My new garden treatment room, here at home in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

For years I’ve dreamed of having a dedicated space with a simple intention - to offer women somewhere to step out of the noise for a while. A place to soften, breathe, reconnect and feel held. And now she’s here 🥹

The Haven is where my reflexology and restorative treatment rituals take place. It’s a place where nothing is required of you other than to allow yourself to soften, to be held, to begin feel safe. My hope is you’ll leave feeling a little more peaceful than you did when you arrived.

(And it’s already becoming that space for me personally too 🥹).

So no, The Haven isn’t quite finished yet because every decision and every purchase has been and will continue to be intentional and this takes time.

And whilst there will be no grand launch or fanfare, please know that this space is already ready for you to land, and that each time you return you’ll notice (mine and the room’s) continual evolution and your experience will always be at the heart of this.

Come and see what I’m creating here for you. Booking link in bio.

As I sit here in my treatment room taking a minute to reflect, I’m recognising how much this room has held over the last 10 years.

A space I nursed a baby in and watched a toddler bounce around, soon became the hub of the home as well as my business.

It’s a space where my business came alive. Starting with case study clients 9 years ago, many of whom are still regulars, this room has witnessed an evolution on every level.

Online content recording, live sessions, treatments, baby changing & photography for my baby classes, all alongside being a true family space - it’s officially been the hardest working room in the home.

It’s seen many many tears, but also witnessed so much joy and laughter and holds so many stories.

Sometimes you start to look at familiar things through a different lense, and right now I’m full of gratitude for 10 years in this space.

S O M E T I M E S experiences fill you with so much joy and gratitude - last Sunday was one of those days.

My second Spring retreat day of the year was such a special one! An absolutely gorgeous group of ladies, all with such beautiful energy. The weather, yet again, was wonderful, so much so that we enjoyed the closing sound bath outside (with the birds at times taking the lead, so vocal they were!)

I’m truly blessed to work alongside such talented, wonderful humans to deliver these days. and yet again bringing so much warmth and value to the day.

My heart is full 🥹

As I take a break from events over the remainder of the Spring, through summer, I’ll be returning at the end of September for my Autumn Retreat Day. I have just two spaces left. If you feel called to find out more comment ‘Autumn’ and I’ll do the rest.
