Why Litha is a perfect time to decorate a broom/besom

Litha is the midsummer sabbat in many modern Pagan and Wiccan traditions, celebrated around the summer solstice (usually June 20–22 in the Northern Hemisphere). It marks the longest day of the year and is associated with the sun, abundance, growth, vitality, and the peak of summer. Litha

A besom is a traditional broom, often associated with witchcraft and folk magic. In many Pagan and Wiccan practices, a besom is used symbolically for:

Cleansing a ritual space of unwanted energy
Purification before ceremonies
Marking sacred boundaries
Handfasting (Pagan wedding) rituals, where couples may “jump the broom”

Litha and Besoms

Decorate besoms with summer flowers, ribbons, herbs, or solar symbols.
Use a besom to ritually sweep a ceremonial area before solstice rites.
Place a besom near an altar or front door as a symbol of protection, purification, and household blessings.
Perfect time for a workshop with like minded people. No experience needed. Book today, spaces are limited 🖤🖤🖤
