An invitation to pause, breathe and reset.

As life moves around us, finding time to simply stop can feel like a luxury. But sometimes, giving ourselves permission to rest is exactly what we need.

Join me on Monday 19th October for an invitation for rest, gentle reflection and relaxation through the immersive sounds and vibrations of Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, therapeutic percussion and gong.

There is nothing you need to do, achieve or become. Simply arrive, settle into the space and allow yourself the opportunity to slow down.

Whether you’re new to sound baths or have joined me before, you are warmly welcome.

Every person arrives with a different story.

Different experiences. Different needs. Different intentions.

That’s why no two sessions should ever be the same.

Before a single instrument is played, the work has already begun.

Listening. Reflecting. Understanding.

Considering which sounds, frequencies and techniques may best support the individual.

Every instrument chosen with intention.

Every stage thoughtfully considered.

Creating a space that is supportive and personal.

Because sound therapy isn’t simply about the sounds we create.

It’s about the person we’re creating them for.

Individual needs. Intentional practice. Personalised care.

A big shout out to for the training to allow me to take this approach!

Same instruments. Same person. Very different intention.

I spend a lot of my life in front of people — singing in a band, running children’s music sessions and facilitating sound therapy.

But there is an important distinction between performing and holding space.

When I perform, my role is to bring energy, entertain and connect.

When I facilitate a sound session, it isn’t about me.

My responsibility is to create an environment that invites you to pause, rest and experience sound in your own way. To listen and respond rather than dictate. To recognise when another sound is needed — and, just as importantly, when it isn’t.

For me, this is a fundamental part of facilitating with care, intention and integrity.

Sound therapy isn’t about demonstrating what the instruments can do.

It’s about creating space for you to notice what happens when you’re given permission to simply be.

Sometimes my job is to make some noise.

Sometimes my job is to know when to get out of the way and let the sound — and the silence — belong to you.

When I explored training to become a sound therapist I wanted to train with academic rigour, intellectual and scientific curiosity. I very rarely (if ever) talk about chakras in my practice; I absolutely value and respect those incredible sound practitioners that do- there is a big place for that, but the way I practice and the way I talk about sound is through the science… and the more I practice, the more I learn, and the more I see and feel the incredible power of sound.
I feel privileged to have trained through the amazing Signature Sound Academy and I feel excited that I will never ‘finish’ my training. The body is an incredible thing with so much more to learn about.
As a Philosophy teacher in my previous line of work I go back to the (apparent) words of Socrates: “The more you know, the more you know you don’t know”. I LOVE this mantra because it means I will continue to learn and grow in my practice.
Please do contact me if you want to find out more.

There’s a part of my work with Ambient Sound Therapy that I feel particularly proud of… bringing sound into schools. 💙

After more than 20 years working in education, including seven years in senior leadership, supporting young people has been a huge part of my professional life.

Now, I’m able to bring that experience together with my work as a qualified Sound Therapist.

Through sound, breathing, grounding and sensory exploration, I’m creating opportunities for young people to pause, listen, notice and simply be — something that can sometimes be difficult to find in a busy school day.

And it doesn’t have to sit separately from learning. Sound can open up fascinating connections with Science, PSHE, mindfulness, emotional awareness and transition support.

I don’t believe sound therapy replaces the brilliant pastoral or specialist mental-health support already happening in schools. Instead, it can provide another experience through which young people can explore wellbeing, curiosity and greater awareness of themselves.

Perhaps the thing I love most is that when I walk back into a school, I haven’t stopped being a teacher.

I’m just bringing something new with me.

I’ve written a new blog about why this work means so much to me, how my years in education shape the sessions I deliver, and why I believe creating space for young people to pause really matters.

Today was a powerful reminder of what can happen when schools, health professionals and wellbeing practitioners come together to support young people’s mental health.

I felt incredibly privileged to be invited to contribute to the USF Schools Mental Health Ambassador training, organised by the USF Wellbeing lead, hosted by and led by the NHS Mental Health Support Team, part of the

Around 80 children came together to explore how they can become positive voices for mental health and wellbeing within their own school communities.

My role was to offer something a little different.

Through a sound bath, the children were given time to stop. To pause. To reflect. To experience how sound, stillness and simply having space can form part of a wider approach to wellbeing.

For me, that’s where days like this become particularly powerful — different organisations and approaches coming together with one shared purpose: giving young people the knowledge, tools and confidence to look after themselves and support one another.

A genuine privilege to play a small part in it. 🙏
