This one comes from a place I know very well. ❤️
For much of my life, I was the strong one. The one who kept going, supported everyone else, found a way through and rarely asked for help.
Vulnerability didn't come easily to me. For a long time, I saw it as weakness rather than strength. So I would simply plod on, carrying whatever life gave me.
My own healing journey has taught me something very different.
There is incredible strength in allowing yourself to be vulnerable.
To stop and acknowledge how you're really feeling.
To listen to your body.
To say I'm struggling.
To ask for help.
And, perhaps hardest of all when you're used to being the giver, to allow yourself to receive.
I still love supporting and holding space for others it's a huge part of who I am and the work I do. But I've learnt that I need to allow myself to be supported and be held too.🙏
We don't always have to carry everything alone.
Sometimes healing begins when we finally allow ourselves to put something down. 🌿
