“I thought I was just becoming a difficult person.”
That’s something many women quietly worry during perimenopause and menopause.
They notice that they are:
less patient
more emotional
more anxious
more exhausted
and less like themselves.
Then they feel guilty for struggling.
But often there’s far more going on beneath the surface.
Many women are trying to hold everything together while
sleeping badly
running on stress hormones
managing fluctuating hormones
and feeling physically depleted.
The turning point often comes when women realise:
“This isn’t weakness. My body genuinely needs more support right now.”
That understanding alone can bring enormous relief.

And if you’re tired of trying to figure all of this out on your own,.
this is exactly the kind of support I offer women in midlife and beyond.

Constant cravings in midlife are often a sign something is out of balance and not proof you “lack discipline”.
Here are 3 reasons cravings become more intense after 40:
Blood sugar swings
Skipping meals, eating very little during the day or relying on sugary snacks can create an energy rollercoaster that drives cravings later on.
Stress and exhaustion
Many women are mentally overloaded and physically tired. The body naturally seeks quick energy and comfort when stressed.
Not eating enough protein or proper meals
Toast, cereal and snacky meals often leave women undernourished and hungry again quickly.
Midlife nutrition works best when we stop focusing purely on restriction and start supporting the body properly.

Quick question to you all?
How many of these feel familiar?

You wake up tired even after sleeping.
You rely on sugar, caffeine or snacks for energy.
You know movement helps you feel better but struggle to stay consistent.
You feel stiff after sitting for too long.
Stress affects your eating habits more than it used to.
You feel overwhelmed by all the health advice online.
You keep thinking:
“I really need to start looking after myself properly.”
If several of those sound familiar, your body may not need another extreme health plan.
It may simply need more support, consistency and a more balanced approach to health.

I don't know about you, but getting outside in nature and being around flowers and trees really lifts my mood. Why is this?
Being around trees, flowers, fresh air, and natural light can help lower stress hormones, calm the nervous system, and boost mood-enhancing chemicals like serotonin and dopamine. Even a short walk outside can make us feel more grounded, clear-headed, and connected. Nature really is therapy sometimes. Get out there and feel the benefits!

Why Red Peppers Might Be the Healthiest Pepper?
Not all peppers are created equal
🟢 Green peppers are picked early.
🟡🟠 Yellow & orange peppers are riper.
🔴 Red peppers are fully matured and packed with nutrients.
Why red peppers stand out:
✨ More Vitamin C
Red peppers contain more vitamin C than oranges gram-for-gram helping support immunity, collagen production, and skin health.
✨ Rich in Beta-Carotene
Your body converts this antioxidant into vitamin A, which supports eye health and immune function.
✨ Loaded with Antioxidants
Red peppers contain compounds like capsanthin and lycopene that help combat oxidative stress and inflammation.
✨ Naturally Sweeter
As peppers ripen, their sugar content increases slightly, making red peppers sweeter and easier for many people to enjoy raw.
✨ Low-Calorie, High-Fibre
Great for fullness, digestion, and adding volume to meals without many calories.
So are red peppers the “best”?
Nutritionally, they tend to have the highest antioxidant and vitamin content of the bell pepper family.
But every colour offers benefits ,so variety still wins.
🥗 Roast them, slice them raw, or throw them into salads, pasta, eggs, or stir fries.

I often get asked by clients what they should do to eat well when they are visiting restaurants and having days out. I teach the 80%20% rule which means 80% of the time eat healthily and 20% of the time, you should have what you fancy if you need it. We all have our lives to lead and nobody should feel thy are missing out on something they really want! This is a picture of a meal I had in Barcelona. Chicken kebab, salad, hummus on a flatbread. I really enjoyed it! I will be recreating this at home with a wholemeal flatbread and the flat leaf parsley on top as it really lifted the dish. Enjoy your food!
