SeeAbility is a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title holder!

We're so so so proud to announce that we have set a Guinness World Records for "Most participants featured on a live portrait installation in 48 hours".

This record was set with 800 people. Every one of those 800 represented 1000 people with learning disabilities in the UK who are currently living with sight loss.

A huge thanks go out to Luke, Alex, the SeeAbility team onsite and the wonderful people of London for helping us achieve this remarkable challenge.

If you’re heading into the city next week, why not stop by and be part of something special?

Did you know that children with learning disabilities are 28 times more likely to have a serious sight problem?

Despite this, thousands of children across the UK are missing out on the critical eye care that they need.

Whether it’s never having an eye test, or not receiving the right glasses, these barriers mean that many young people miss key moments from their childhood – moments that are formative as they learn and grow – moments which matter.

On the 28th and 29th May at Potters Fields Park in London, you have an opportunity to draw attention to this often-overlooked issue by taking part in our GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title attempt in London for the “Most participants featured on a live portrait installation in 48 hours”.

Come along, add your image to our portrait, and help to make children’s eye care impossible to ignore.

Can you help us find independent witnesses for our Guinness World Record attempt in London next week? Paid opportunity!

Do you know someone near London who would love to be part of a unique public event and help make a world record attempt possible?

On Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May, SeeAbility will be hosting a large-scale live art installation in central London to celebrate inclusion, raise awareness and bring people together through a creative public activation.

As part of the attempt, Guinness World Records requires us to have a team of independent witnesses supporting across the two days

What independent witnesses will do:
– Observe the activity and support the adjudicator in verifying Guinness World Records guidelines are followed
– Support with simple record-keeping, including participant log sheets
– Attend a 4-hour shift on one or both days

Event times:
Thursday 28 May – 11am to 9pm
Friday 29 May – 9am to 7pm

Who can take part:
– Over 18
– A working professional or current university student
– Completely independent from SeeAbility

Please note – witnesses cannot work for SeeAbility or be close family members, volunteers or people already connected to the charity.

Pay:
– £15 per hour
– Or reasonable expenses covered for anyone volunteering their time to support the charity

No previous experience is needed. We’re looking for people who are reliable, honest, organised and happy to be part of a fast-paced public event. A full briefing will be provided on the day.

If you know someone who may be interested, please email Emily: [email protected]
