EMOTIONAL CAPACITY
Over time, the nervous system adapts in ways that try to keep you in protection mode.
Sometimes that can look like shutting down, avoiding with distraction, disconnecting. Leading to you struggling to stay with emotions, or feeling them at all.
Protection can slowly look like emotional narrowing, not because something is wrong with you, but because the nervous system is trying to help you cope.
Not feeling the upper end, because we subconsciously aren’t allowing access to the lower end due to your current capacity.
The beautiful thing is that the nervous system is adaptable.
Through breath, awareness and the creation of a platform of safety in your body, you can rebuild trust with yourself one breath at a time.
You trust your breath over and over to bring you back to centre.
Know that your breath is your anchor.
Use it wisely.
