My keto breakfast 🍳 Three egg omelette with last nights leftover veg (broccoli, broad beans and courgette), mushrooms and tomatoes. A little cheese. 😋 oh and cooked in butter, yes you heard me BUTTER 👍👍.

My blood ketones reading after 2 days: 0.6 mmol/L 🔥
A nice example of how responsive the body can be to dietary change 👌 By lowering carbohydrate intake, the body can switch from using glucose as its primary fuel source to producing ketones for energy ⚡️
For many people this can have huge benefits for energy, cravings, appetite control, mental clarity, blood sugar balance, and weight loss 📉🧠🥑
I’m not going to lie… I definitely had the “detox head” a little today 😅 but it’s always fascinating seeing how quickly the body can adapt metabolically when given the right environment. Starting to sharpen up now!!
⚠️ If you have diabetes or take blood sugar lowering medication, always seek professional guidance.

Quick lunch that actually feels like a proper meal 👌

Threw this together in no time—pre-cooked prawns, avocado, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, artichokes, some fresh coriander, plus 2 baked portobello mushroom s with melted truffle cheddar (so good) and a bit of hummus on the side.

Nothing fancy, just easy ingredients and a few minutes. This is your sign that lunch doesn’t have to be complicated to be decent 🙌

Had the opportunity to speak on live TV recently with The Ashgrove Clinic — where I guest monthly — about one of the most exciting shifts we’re seeing in metabolic health right now: Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) 🎥

Hosted by Christian Baker, hypnotherapist and mindset coach, alongside Spencer from Glucose Revolution, this was a really valuable conversation about how this technology is becoming more accessible — and what that actually means for everyday health.

We explored how CGMs are no longer just for managing type 1 diabetes, but are now being used as powerful tools for understanding:
• Type 2 diabetes
• Prediabetes
• Metabolic health
• Weight management

What makes this so impactful is the real-time insight — being able to see how your body responds to different foods, stress, sleep, and lifestyle choices.

But data alone isn’t enough.
That was a key part of our discussion.

Understanding your glucose patterns is one thing — knowing how to apply that insight in a practical, sustainable way is where true change happens.

This is where personalised nutritional therapy plays such an important role. With the right guidance, CGM data can be translated into meaningful, realistic strategies that support:
• Better blood sugar balance
• Improved energy levels
• Sustainable weight loss
• Long-term metabolic health

We also touched on the importance of avoiding over-restriction or becoming overly focused on numbers, and instead using this technology as a tool to support a more informed and balanced approach to health.

It’s exciting to see how tools like this are empowering people to better understand their own bodies — and shifting the focus from generic advice to truly personalised health strategies.

Great to share the conversation with and hosted by — thank you both.

If you caught the segment, I’d love to hear your thoughts 👇

A ridiculously speedy meal here. Start with brown baking paper, bed of spinach, fish (I chose cod this time but any you prefer), sliced fennel, capers, drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, pink salt and pepper. Wrap loosely and bake for 15/20 mins. Serve with steamed veg or salad. 😋

I’m a nutritional therapist who helps people feel great through optimal metabolic health.

What does that mean?
👉 How efficiently your body turns food into energy — rather than storing it.

The simplest way to assess this?
A blood test called HbA1c, which reflects your average blood sugar over the last 2–3 months.
It’s tested routinely and often included in a well-woman or 40+ health check.

📊 Understanding the numbers:
 • Below 35 — optimal
 • 35–41 — early insulin resistance may be developing
 • 42+ — prediabetes
⚠️ Most people are only contacted once they reach 42 — and sometimes not even then.
💡 I recommend taking action from 35.
Small, targeted changes here are far easier than waiting until problems escalate.

Why check it yourself?
 • You are the best person to advocate for your health
 • Early insulin changes are easier to reverse
 • Blood sugar dysregulation often drives fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, and hormonal symptoms — even before diagnosis.
