This morning I was sitting with my cup of tea and watching the birds at the feeder, enjoying a little bit of peace before the day starts, and I found myself thinking about this June challenge.

It's funny because when we decide we want to make a change, we often think the hard part is starting.

But starting is usually the easy bit.

It's easy to keep a promise to yourself when you feel motivated. It's much harder on a random Wednesday when you're tired, busy, and nobody would know if you didn't do it.

That's where I think the real challenge is.

Not in doing something once.

In doing it again.

And then again.

Long after the excitement has worn off.

I've realised recently that every time I keep one of those small promises to myself, I'm building evidence that I can trust my own word.

And every time I don't, I'm strengthening the habit of letting myself off the hook.

We'd never build a friendship that way. If someone repeatedly let us down, eventually we'd stop trusting them. Yet so many of us do exactly that to ourselves without even noticing.

That's why this challenge isn't really about getting up earlier for me.

It's about becoming someone who does what she says she's going to do.

So today, don't worry about the rest of the month.

Just focus on today.

What's one promise you can keep to yourself before your head hits the pillow tonight? 🌿🤍

Happy Choose-Day ✨

Yesterday, I shared my June challenge: to keep one small promise to myself each day.

This morning, that promise was simple. I got up 30 minutes earlier and sat with a cup of tea before the day began.

Nothing dramatic.

But it reminded me that keeping promises to ourselves isn't usually about one big decision. It's about the small choices we make throughout the day.

The choice to get out of bed when the alarm goes off.

The choice to go for the walk.

The choice to start the job we've been avoiding.

The choice to spend ten minutes on something that's important to us, even when life feels busy.

When we think about creating change, we often focus on the end goal. But lasting change is rarely built in one giant leap. It's built through the small choices we make consistently, often when nobody else is watching.

Those choices might not feel significant in the moment, but they are the building blocks of trust, confidence, and progress.

So on this Choose-Day, rather than asking yourself what needs to change, perhaps ask yourself:

✨ What is one choice I can make today that supports the person I want to become?

One small choice.

One small action.

One step in the right direction. 🌿🤍

✨ June Challenge: Keeping Promises to Ourselves ✨

It's the 1st of June, and I'd like to invite you to join me in a challenge this month...

How many times have you told yourself you were going to do something... and then not done it?

Get up earlier.
Go for a walk.
Drink more water.
Start that project.
Take better care of yourself.

I know I've done it.

For a long time, I thought it was a motivation problem. But lately I've been noticing that the procrastinating, the avoiding, the excuses, and the "I'll start tomorrow" conversations are often just the visible part of something deeper.

Self-trust.

Because if a friend constantly told us they were going to do something and never followed through, eventually we'd stop trusting their word.

Yet many of us do exactly that to ourselves.

Not intentionally.

Life gets busy. Other people need us. We put ourselves at the bottom of the list.

But every time we make a promise to ourselves and don't follow through, I think a tiny piece of trust gets chipped away.

And over time, that affects far more than whether we go for the walk or finish the project.

It affects how much we trust ourselves, back ourselves, and believe we're capable of creating change.

The thing I've been realising recently is that self-trust isn't built through the big things.

It's built quietly.

One small promise.
One small action.
One small step.

So that's my challenge for June.

For me, that promise is getting up a little earlier and creating some quiet space at the start of the day before everything else begins.

Not because it's life-changing.

But because I want to become someone who trusts her own word.

If you'd like to join me, choose one small promise of your own.

And because we're not meant to do life alone, I'm creating a small June accountability group inside the Elluminate Community where we can check in, encourage one another, and celebrate the promises we're keeping to ourselves.

If you'd like to join us, comment JUNE below or send me a message, and I'll add you to the group. 🌿🤍

✨ Sunday Reflections ✨

Today marked the end of this round of Creative Connections, and what a lovely way to finish.

I'm tired, but it's the good kind of tired.

The kind that comes from spending a day creating, learning, laughing, problem-solving, and watching people achieve things they perhaps weren't quite sure they could do when they first walked through the door.

One of the things I love most about these workshops isn't the furniture itself.

It's watching confidence grow.

It's seeing someone tackle a challenge, learn a new skill, trust the process, and eventually step back and say, "I did that."

In a world that often feels rushed and noisy, there is something incredibly grounding about slowing down, working with your hands, being creative, and focusing on one thing at a time.

Creative Connections was never just about upholstery.

It's about creating space.

Space to learn.
Space to think.
Space to connect.
Space to build confidence.

As everyone headed home this evening, I couldn't help but think that there are a few people leaving feeling a little more capable than they did this morning.

And honestly, that's what it's all about.

Thank you to everyone who took part, trusted the process, and kept showing up week after week. You should be incredibly proud of what you've achieved. 🤍

As for me, I feel very grateful, very happy, and very satisfied.

There is something special about helping people discover what they're capable of.

And I can't wait to see where your creativity takes you next. 🌿

Hello Friday ✨️

"The strongest communities aren't built by people doing it all. They're built by people bringing what they can." 🤍

One of the things I've loved seeing this week is how naturally people find their place when they're given the opportunity.

Nobody has to do everything.

We just each bring something.

And together, that's enough.

Have a lovely weekend. 🌿🐴✨

✨ Thankful Thursday ✨

Last night I was at a meeting about bringing Rainbows and Brownies back to our local area....

As I drove home afterwards, I found myself feeling incredibly grateful.

Not just for the opportunity itself, but for the fact that there were a group of us sitting around a table, all willing to give up some of our time to create something that will benefit children and families for years to come.

In a world that can sometimes feel noisy, divided, and focused on individual success, it was a lovely reminder that there are still plenty of people quietly getting on with helping others.

No spotlight.
No recognition.
Just people choosing to show up.

This week's theme has been "We're Not Meant To Do Life Alone", and I don't think that applies only to adults.

Children need community too.

They need safe spaces.
They need role models.
They need opportunities to learn, grow, make friends, build confidence, and discover who they are.

What struck me most last night was that we weren't just talking about activities for today's children. We were talking about creating something that could continue to support children and families for many years to come.

Even when our own children have grown up and moved on.

That's the power of community.

Like a ripple on water, you never really know how far the impact will travel.

So today I'm feeling thankful for volunteers, for communities, and for the people who choose to invest their time and energy into something bigger than themselves.

Because those small acts of service have a way of reaching much further than we ever realise. 🤍

✨ Wellness Wednesday ✨

This week's theme is all about connection.

We often think of that as connection with other people, but sometimes the connection we need most is with ourselves.

So here's a little invitation for today...

Take your shoes off.

Stand on the grass.
Walk on the sand.
Sit in the sunshine.
Listen to the birds.
Feel the ground beneath your feet.

No rushing.
No scrolling.
No trying to be productive.

Just a few minutes to pause and reconnect with where you are.

Sometimes the simplest things can bring us back to ourselves 🤍

Movement creates clarity.
Connection creates calm.
And neither has to be complicated.

✨ Choose-Day Thoughts ✨

One of the most powerful choices we can make is who we surround ourselves with.

The people who encourage us.
The people who challenge us kindly.
The people who listen without judgement.
The people who remind us who we are when we forget.

Not every relationship in our lives will help us grow, and not every space we spend time in will leave us feeling better than when we arrived.

That's why it's so important to be intentional about the people, places, and communities we choose to invest our time and energy in.

This week's reminder is a simple one:

Choose the people who make you feel safe enough to be yourself, supported enough to keep growing, and valued enough to know that you don't have to do life alone 🤍

No pressure.
No perfection.
Just creativity, community, and a welcoming space to exhale a little ✨

✨ Monday Reminder ✨

We’re not meant to do life alone.

I think sometimes modern life convinces us that we’re supposed to carry everything ourselves. Keep going. Keep coping. Keep smiling. Keep pushing through.

But the truth is, most people need:
✨ support
✨ connection
✨ safe spaces
✨ good conversations
✨ community
✨ people who genuinely care

This week through Elluminate, I want to focus a little more on the importance of supportive circles, meaningful connection, and creating spaces where people feel able to just exhale for a while 🤍

Sometimes healing isn’t found in huge life changes.

Sometimes it starts with:
a conversation,
a walk,
a coffee,
a creative space,
a shared experience,
or simply being reminded that you’re not alone ✨
