I honestly never thought I would need to make posts about some of these things. But when so many people come to us questioning their own intuition because of rules they have been taught about working with Alchemy bowls, I feel I have to.

The number of people who come to us after completing ‘Alchemy Bowl’ training believing there are rigid rules around how they should choose, combine, arrange or work with their bowls is extraordinary.

Somewhere along the way, people are being taught to distrust what they feel. To believe that knowledge, rules and prescribed systems are somehow more powerful, more valid or ‘better’ than inner knowing and intuition.

Knowledge absolutely has its place.
Understanding your instrument matters. Developing skill, discernment and good practice matters. But knowledge should deepen your relationship with the bowls, not disconnect you from your own ability to listen and feel.
If every choice has to pass through a set of external rules before you trust yourself to make it, where is the space for intuition? Where is the space for relationship, responsiveness and the unique experience unfolding in that moment?

For me, working with Alchemy bowls has never been about imposing more restrictions. It is about becoming more sensitive, more discerning and more deeply connected to what you are hearing and feeling.

Ultimately, you cannot become a clear channel by continually being taught not to trust yourself.

Cannot actually believe I need to make this video but there are so many people that are told by ‘sound healing teachers’ that there is a right and a wrong playing technique, that you ‘mess up the energy’ if you use the mallets in a particular direction (What does that even mean!). That one direction will ground your energy and another way will accelerate the energy, one will heal your feminine energy and another your masculine energy, and these declarations go on. But that’s not how energy and energetic exchange works, playing the bowls is simple, intuitive and effortless. So just be you, play them your way, practice and enjoy, it’s bound to change anyway.

Why choose pre-loved bowls? 🎐

Every bowl we take on is pre-loved by nurturing owners, they trust us with their bowl, and we welcome it into our studio, photographing and filming it with the same care as our new collection.

They hold onto so much of their original value, yet are priced compassionately.
Only bowls in immaculate condition make it into our pre-loved collection - free from fractures or cracks.

Choosing pre-loved takes custodianship of a bowl with history and healing already woven into its voice.

Morning! To all my new followers, I just wanted to say a little hello 🤍

This is me, Genevra, standing by the door to the Alchemies Studio. Founder of Crystal Singing Bowls, the Guardian Sets® and our sister company, Alchemies®.

In my twenties, I lived and worked as an artist and ceramicist, exhibiting nationally, while life moved me into social care and healing. Healing me, healing others (the journey continues).

Then, in 2009, I had a dream.

I was going to create an installation of porcelain vessels, with light pouring into them, colour emanating from them and sound filling the space. At the centre, a circular pool of water with quartz at the bottom, where you could sit and fill your cup.

Shortly afterwards, a friend invited me to a crystal singing bowl concert.

I went along and there it was.

I realised I didn’t need to make the vessels. I just needed to find out what these extraordinary instruments were, and I needed to play them.

So that’s what I did.

The bowls became my practice. Then one day, a woman from Belgium phoned and told me her guides had said I had a bowl for her. Before I knew it, I was sending her my favourite bowl, an F note Azeztulite.

And so, completely organically, the journey of buying and selling bowls began.

Seventeen years later, it has grown into the extraordinary collection we house today.

I am creative. I love expansion, expression, working and purpose. I cannot help but stride towards a destination, not to finish and sit back, but to begin the next adventure.

I imagine it as walking through the night towards the sunrise.

So what’s next? What will the next sunrise reveal?

I don’t know. But I know I will be moved exactly where I need to be.

And for now, you’ll find me here, at the Alchemies Studio, surrounded by these beautiful Alchemy Bowls, sharing their symphony and this little pocket of light, harmony and joy.

All our pure quartz Crystal Pyramids are handmade in Germany by glass artist Dieter Schrade, the original creator of the Crystal Pyramid.

Crafted from quartz sourced from Spruce Pine, North Carolina, each pyramid is cut, ground and finished with exceptional precision, rising at an angle of 51.5° — the same angle found in the Great Pyramid of Giza.
