A dream, an idea, a ‘what if?’

I’ve had many of those since stepping into this work - but every now and then one grows bigger than you expected.
Bigger than you can carry alone.

This one has gathered momentum, people, purpose.
It’s been shaped in honest conversations, shared values, and the steady support of people who care.

At one point I said quietly, ‘I can’t do this on my own’ - and the right people appeared.

This is the beginning.

Keep watching……something big is on its way.

So that concludes my 7 days of dead hanging.
It’s honestly made such a difference - my shoulders feel more open, my posture’s better, I feel stronger and more supported through my upper body, and my nervous system feels more settled.

I’m going to keep dead hanging in my routine because it works for me, but I won’t be checking in every single day because that would get a bit boring for everyone…..but I’ll let you know from time to time how it’s going.

My next commitment is bringing slam ball slams back in.

I used to work up to slamming 15kg, but it’s been a few months, so I’m starting lighter and rebuilding.

Slam balls are a great exercise when working with psychological trauma – they are incredible for somatic release - that explosive ‘let go’ movement helps the body discharge built up energy, frustration or hyperarousal often associated with trauma.

And physically they build full body power, core strength, and coordination.

So I’ll be sharing some videos this week about how to perform the exercise and the progress I’m making 😊

It’s not going great so far today! But don’t worry, I’ll find somewhere!

As promised! 🤣 had to get inventive with somewhere to hang! Grip was terrible and it was beyond boiling hot! Let’s see what tomorrow holds 😎

Later than planned - sorry! I did this this morning, but it’s been a day!
1 minute and 20 seconds - same as yesterday. It was tough from the beginning today - as you’ll be able to see!
Let’s see what tomorrow looks like 👀💪🏼

Dead hang day 3 - I minute and 20 seconds. So no gain today - in fact I guess you could call it a loss - but honestly this is how it goes with dead hanging. You won’t gain every day and there’ll be days when your body is tired and your hang time will be lower. But as with everything - consistency is key. So keep the daily habit and the gains will come 💪🏼💙

Oh Dolly 💔💔💔💔

I grew up listening to your music – it was the foundation for my passion in country music – it led me to your country, to Nashville, to some of the happiest times of my life.

You didn’t just shape a genre - you had an impact on generations of women.

Women who were told to be small.
Women who were told to be quiet.
Women who were told to pick one lane and stay in it.

You refused all of that.

You showed women they could be ambitious without apology.
Creative without permission.
Feminine without compromise.
Intelligent without needing to prove it.

You taught women that being underestimated could be a strategy - not a setback. You turned every stereotype into a doorway, and every limitation into a challenge. You made space for women to be complex, contradictory, brilliant, emotional, strategic, and human.

You funded healthcare access for women who couldn’t afford it.
You supported research that saved lives.
You paid bills quietly for families who were drowning.
You used your success to create safety for women who had none.

And for children - especially girls - you gave them imagination.
Your Imagination Library wasn’t just a literacy programme.
It was a message:
Your story matters. Your voice matters. Your future matters.

Today hits differently for women.
Because you weren’t just an icon - you were evidence.
Evidence that a woman can build an empire without losing her softness.
Evidence that kindness can be powerful.
Evidence that a woman can change the world in ways that statistics will never fully capture.

My nervous system feels this one.
Not just because of the music, but because of what you represented for women like me - women who grew up needing proof that strength and tenderness can coexist.

Thank you for every door you opened.
Every girl you inspired.
Every woman you made feel possible.

Rest in peace Queen of Country 💙💙💙💙
