Big feelings, small people. 💛

Big feelings arrive long before children have the words for them. A three-year-old cannot tell you they feel overwhelmed. They show you.

That is why the earliest years matter so much. Through Mindset for Early Years, children practise simple calming and confidence tools through stories, movement and play, and practitioners carry the same language into everyday routines.

For nurseries, it supports the EYFS PSED educational programme and early learning goals. For parents, it means the breathing game they learnt at nursery comes home too.

January INSET is closer than it feels.

The Staff Wellbeing Experience is a CPD-accredited two-hour in-person workshop for school and nursery teams, followed by an 11-hour online course staff can return to all year. It is a genuine wellbeing moment for your team, and CPD that builds real capability. When staff look after themselves, the ripple reaches every child in the room.

You can't pour from an empty cup™.

"Having a MiniMe Mindfulness mentor come into our nursery setting was eye-opening... I will most definitely be taking these new habits into both personal life and professional life." Nursery staff review

One more week until half-term. If your house feels a little frayed right now, you are not alone 💛

Children are tired. Grown-ups are tired. Patience is thinner than it was in September.

This is the week to lower the bar on purpose. Simple teas. Early nights. Fewer questions about the school day and more cuddles on the sofa.

Calm is not something we demand from children. It is something we show them. Because little eyes are always watching™.

Your votes did this ✨

Thank you to every parent, grandparent, carer, teacher and friend who voted for us in the What's On 4 Kids Awards 2026.

Because of you, MiniMe Mindfulness® is a finalist in Most Loved Academic or Creative Activity (Franchise with 5–19 Leaders), and our Founder, Tessa Hawes, is a finalist in the judged Steve Franks 'Shining Star' Award for Excellence and Innovation.

Every vote came from someone who has seen what this work means for a child they love. That is what we are proudest of.

Winners are announced at the awards night in Leicester on Thursday 26 November. Whatever happens, thank you for being part of it.

Plan it now, not in December.

Heads and SENCOs: inclusion strategies need to be published on school websites by 31 December 2026. They should set out the barriers you have identified, the activities funded with their budgeted costs, and what those activities are intended to achieve.

December is the busiest month of the school year. Plan it now and there is a whole term to put it into practice, and something real to write about.

If children's wellbeing and staff development are part of yours, we can help you show what you plan to deliver and what you will be able to file. It starts with a free taster session and a short walkthrough with your lead.

If you'd like to find out more about how we could support your school, please get in touch. I'd be happy to have a chat. 💛

Wellbeing is on the timetable.

The DfE's revised Relationships, S*x and Health Education guidance came into force this September, and primary children learn about feelings, friendships, how to talk about worries and simple ways to look after their minds.

For schools, the question is not whether to teach it, but how to teach it well and consistently across the year. That is where we come in. Our 25 Superpowers Framework™ teaches one named Superpower per session, and each one returns year on year with a new story or game, so the learning deepens. It maps to the PSHE education core themes and supports statutory Health and Relationships Education, and schools get a Framework Alignment Pack for their evidence file.

For parents, it means a shared language at school and at home: breathe, anchor, try again.

School and nursery leaders: two new inclusion funds have already landed this year.

Mainstream schools have the Inclusive Mainstream Fund, and an inclusion strategy to publish on the school website by 31 December 2026.

Early years settings delivering the free entitlements have the Inclusive Early Years Fund, paid through the local authority, to spend on setting-wide inclusive practice by 31 March 2027. Workforce development is one of the areas the DfE names.

Children's wellbeing, and the staff who support it, sit at the heart of inclusion. Swipe for the dates and where the adults fit.

We have written a plain-English guide to both funds, with links to the DfE guidance, so you can decide what fits your setting:

Six weeks into the new school year and many children are starting to feel tired.

New teachers, new routines, new friendships and a lot of listening.

It can show up at home as tears over small things, big feelings at teatime, or a child who just wants to be close.

It doesn't necessarily mean they're going backwards. Sometimes they've simply had a lot to take in throughout the day and need a little space to let those feelings out. 💛

A slower evening, an earlier night and a little extra reassurance might be just what they need.

✨ What are the little things you do each day that support your mental health?

With World Mental Health Day tomorrow, I've been thinking about the things I do to look after my own mental wellbeing.

Nothing complicated.

For me, it might be getting outside, taking a moment to breathe, practising mindfulness or simply giving myself permission to switch off for a while.

It's easy to put our own wellbeing further down the list when we're busy looking after children, working and juggling everything else that needs doing.

But looking after our mental health doesn't have to wait until we're struggling.

Sometimes it's simply about making a little space for ourselves in the everyday.

What daily habit helps you? 💛

You can't pour from an empty cup.™

✨ World Mental Health Day is coming up this week.

Days like this are so important for raising awareness and encouraging conversations about mental health.

But our mental wellbeing is something worth thinking about every day, not just when we're struggling.

For children, that can start with really simple things.

Learning to recognise and talk openly about their feelings.

Taking a moment to pause and breathe.

Noticing where their focus is and changing this if needs be.

Knowing some simple tools they can turn to when things feel difficult.

These are skills we can help children build into everyday life, rather than waiting until they're having a hard time.

Because looking after our mental health isn't just for the difficult days. 💛
