Its Volunteers Week, and I need to give a shout out for amazing helpers at Wonky Carrot.
Cookery programmes need helpers to ensure things run smoothly...watching how knives are handled, encouraging participants, having a chat, washing the dishes ( Michelle Johnson !!!!!), and generally being awesome!
Thank you all for being faithful helpers, and for serving , noticing, giving and helping..and for praying for each other, in all our wonkiness πŸ™‚πŸ₯•πŸ”ͺπŸ₯¦

So true

πŸ₯– Ancient humans didn’t have calorie-counting apps, detox teas, or β€œcheat days” β€” yet their diets were often built around real, seasonal foods and simple habits. Modern diet culture turned eating into rules, trends, and marketing. Maybe the old way wasn’t so wrong after all. 🌿🍲

One thing we talk a lot about in food is consistency.
Choose the thing you can do..

Add a can of beans
Add some frozen veg
Add your sprinkle of seeds
Batch cook and freeze
Drink some more water
Bake cake instead of buying it

And do it. Daily...

And slowly build the future of your eating pattern and habits one step at a time

This is a good reminder that wherever we are, many native dishes boil down to the elements of vegetables and fibre rich carbs, healthy fats and protein...just as we discussed today!

What a Healthy Plate Looks Like Around the World

Healthy eating doesn’t look the same everywhere β€” and that’s the beauty of it. From Mediterranean salads to Asian rice bowls and Latin American bean-based meals, cultures around the world create balanced plates using local ingredients, traditional cooking methods, and minimally processed foods. Despite the differences, most healthy meals share common elements: vegetables, protein, fiber-rich carbs, and healthy fats.
